Ok. Here it goes:
So closing night began like anyother night. Until one of the first scenes. It's where Franz and Frau Scmidt (the butler and houskeeper) are talking about the captain. She says "Well, I wasn't in the Imperial Navy!" and he's supposed to say "Too bad. you could have made a fourtune!" Well, instead he said "too bad. With a body like that, you could have made a fourtune!" :lmao: We were all laughing so hard backstage!!!! she kept trying to get back at him the rest of the time, but he always caught on. So then things were normal for awhile... when we weren't onstage we were in our dressing room just messing around. then it started getting closer towards the end of the show.
It got to the end, the part where they were announcing the festivle winners. @ of my friends and I were the trio that won 3rd place. We were supposed to scream adn be all excited and then run off stage. But we decided it would be fun to do somthing different since it was the last night. We decided to scream luder than ever (which everyone backstage did NOT enjoy but the audience loved) and then we just kept bowing. Over and over. We kept it up for a minute or so until Max finally had to literally drag us off stage!
Anyways, then it got to the very end. We did it where the family was climbing the "mountain" and everyone else was backstage, singing "climb every mountain." It was so emotional for all of us because it was the last time. I felt like crying bvut I didn't for some reason. But the funniest part was curtain call.
everyone was doing somthing funny for curtain call that night. mother Supirior came out with a sign that said "Kiss a nun for a dollar!" and then, the last people to come out, Maria and the captain, both had clown noses on! (For those of you who heard my "clown nose" anecdote that happened during rehersal, it makes it so much funnier!!) We were so not expecting it, they didn't tell anyone they were going to do that, and we all practically collapsed in laughter out onstage! :lmao: :rotfl:
The cast party was fun. After we ate, we sang a bunch of random songs around the piano, and everyone slowly started to leave. I thought for sure I would be crying the whole day because it was ending and it was one of the best things I had ever done in my life, but I didn't. I was kind of in denial that it was actually ending.
So. that was closing night. And I wouldn't change a thing.
