"Soul Eater" Talkback

Ive been thinking about reading ahead, but Im afraid of what I might find. I think Im gonna let the anime series finish off first and then jump to the manga, that way I wont automatically hate the filler ending when its over.

Okay if anyone had doubts about this show or didn't want to get into it too much, just watch 19. It's...it's just plain awesome. You don't even need to watch the previous episodes to know what's going one.

Man, Stein kicks ass

Even reading ahead, the show is still fun to watch because Bones does such a good job cleaning up the artwork. Which is still okay artwork, mind you...but it is borderline Rave Master. The mangaka draws action sequences pretty well too.

Fun wth vectors!

And I'm not saying that because I'm in Toon Zone, or because it's illegal to watch fansubs, I just simply prefer only watching dubs. I tried watching a sub once, and it was so horrible that I puked.

Anyways, I'm starting to get off-topic, so laters.

At Nekocon, Aaron Dismuke and Greg Ayers were hush-hush about working on this upcoming great series that "has not been announced yet," and my first thought was Soul Eater. Now, FUNimation is rumored to be sending cease and desist orders for Soul Eater fansubbing.

Hmmmmmm.

Greg Ayers could make a decent Black Star with his experience as a shounen hero, but I can't think of anyone that could be suitable for Aaron. He may have the talent for Soul, but I have only heard him in younger boy roles. What do you guys think?

This is good news--my child is safe!

It was a little apparent though when lheiskell started throwing the name out on the boarRAB about a month ago...

Nope, that's why they're tapering the plot from the manga.

I wish they'd just do like the NANA series and make a season, then when the manga has gotten far enough, pick the series back up for another season. Less complicated.

Man, they edited the hell out of Crona's backstory, which is great, because 1.) The bunny was just wrong, and 2.) PETA would be all over this show when it crossed over to the states.

So are they going to keep calling her a guy? (S)He's her daughter.

FTW. Funimation is going to handle this baby quite well, though I fear that it'll be a long while for a release. they've got so many long series on thier plate, 2 of which being One Piece and D. Gray-Man that Soul eater probably won't come out till 2010.

That and the manga won't start till this time next year

Actually, FUNimation usually has a few episodes in the can before sending there C&D's and making their announcements. The FUNi VAs who I talked to earlier this month said they have been working on an undisclosed series for a while now. If they were talking about Soul Eater, then the first DVD should be out by Summer 2009.

This is not the first time FUNimation has parallelized productions.

Instead of a fire-breathing pet dragon, it was a cute, defensless bunny that Medusa was telling Chrona to kill (it even looked resigned to its death the poor thing).

I think Ragnarok beating Chrona in the locked room didn't look as cute as it did in the anime either (at least it didn't have the cute little sound effects added to it.)

I don't know if it's a translation problem, but manga's saying daughter, anime's saying boy.

I dunno. I'm sorry, but I still prefer subs, whether it's fansubs or real subs. That's just me. I'm not a typical dub hater by any means as there's a few dubs out there I enjoy more than their Japanese counterparts, but still. The news just irks me. D: That and I'm not a huge fan of Funimation.

I have a feeling they don't want to do that for risk of people growing bored and tired of it... like there have been cases with Bleach/Naruto. People complained about Naruto's fillers when they were filling a huge gap between where they were and where the manga was, then people complained. Just trying to avoid that I'm sure.
