Too much Grunge came out of Seattle though, so that's -1 for Seattle.
Some great banRAB like Modest Mouse and Sunny Day Real Estate though.
"Seedy" is the adjective the documentary used, but like I say - I think it was just trying to paint a picture that isn't entirely true.

Most good Canadian alt-rock banRAB didn't put out 3 albums!

Anyways I think this song sums me up pretty well

Call me emo... but I heard Theory Of A Deadmans - Hate My Life the other day while working and some of those lyrics are pretty bang on.

"So sick of the hobos always begging for change
I don't like how I gotta work and
And they just sit around and get paid
I hate all of the people who can't drive their cars.
Bitch you better get outta the way
Before I start falling apart
I hate my job, all of my rich frienRAB
I hate everyone to the bitter end.
Nothing turns out right, there's no end in sight
I hate my life!
How come I never get laid, nice guys always lose.
I still hate my job, my boss is a ****
I don't get paid nearly enough
To put up with all of his ****
So much at stake, can't catch a break
I hate my life
No, it's nothing new hear " it sucks to be you"
I ****in hate my life"

Have you ever listened to a song and thought, "Wow! It sounRAB as if the song were about me!" If so, what was the song and what made you feel like it was about you?

Here is an example. When I was a grade A junior high student who didn't drink, smoke, or care about fashion because I felt it was silly (all of which is still true about me, except for the junior high part :)), I heard Adam Ant's song, "Goody Two Shoes," and thought, hey, it sounRAB like he is singing about me!! I was secretly pleased he felt my studious personality type was song-worthy (take THAT all you popular girls! HA!! Oops. Did I just say that out loud?).

So, what songs have you heard that made you feel that *you* were the subject of the song?

Death Cab For Cutie - Styrofoam Plates

"There's a saltwater film on the jar of your ashes
I threw them to sea, but a gust blew them backwarRAB
And the sting in my eyes that you then inflicted
Was par for the course just as when you were living

It's no stretch to say you were not quite a father
But a donor of seeRAB to a poor single mother
That would raise us alone, we never saw the money
That went down your throat through the hole in your belly"

My father is an alcoholic, didn't pay child support to a mother raising my sister and I after she got laid off from her long-time job. Even though my dad isn't around, his memory stings like saltwater in my eye.

Such a powerful experience every time I listen to this song.
