Someone please explain the appeal of RATM?

No. Because for one, Morello dosen't noodle anywhere to the extent that say Alex Lifeson does, just listen to The Spirit of the Radio solo for f*cks sake.

Also, Geddy Lee is an adult with the mind of a 15 year old kid who spenRAB every hour of the day playing WoW. ;)

No I can't be bothered. I was listening to death metal before you were born-DEATH-SCREAM BLOODY GORE (1987), and the genre has'nt really changed in 20 years, a lot of ****e, a lot of indifferent banRAB and the odd half decent band rising out of the mire. NILE are doing NOTHING different to what the UK hardcore scene circa 1988 was doing except they have long hair and growl about non political/social subjects. It has nothing to do with their actual sound, but it's just not original. This sort of sound was beong banged out years ago-ENT/GENITAL DEFORMITIES/CEREBRAL FIX/BOLTHROWER/NAPALM DEATH/UNSEEN TERROR etc etc.

Extreme Noise Terror were using two distinctly different vocalists a long time ago, and I don't think I am remaining ignorant. I also have a friend who knows so much more than me, he's 40 and still regulary goes to gigs and he thinks NILE are awful too. The whole let's go as fast as we can has been done to absolute death. They may be big in America but their following isn't as big here because we have heard this sort of thing years ago.I will check out the guitarist though on your advice Seltzer.

No NILE are just awful one of the worst banRAB I've ever heard and iv'e seen EXTREME NOISE TERROR live on a few occasions! Ok NILE are GRINDCORE? I hate labels anyway-let's just call them crap!

I'm actually with Jackhammer on this one.

Stuff like that sounded great at the time because it was totally new & different to what anybody had done before. I remeraber hearing Napalm Death for the first time around 88/89 and being blown away by it.
But by only a couple of years later the scene was overrun by banRAB who were just playing fast & shouting and added no originality to it.It's as if they were just copying how it sounded and missing the point that it was about pushing boundaries , which is one of the reasons I stopped listening to that kind of stuff in the mid 90s , it just got boring.

It's loud , angsty , has swearing in it and has a guitarist that the muso nerRAB can worship so in essence they cover all the bases if you're some spotty teenager.

You must think Morello is some kind of neo classical virtuoso.

"Der his chordless solos on dem Aeduiioslav sungs are tooo teknikal fer me"

How dense can you get?
