Some points about Australian culture?

i need points that express a view on Australian culture based on this quotation:

"This modern good-time city of beaches and restaurant... was formed by traumas that it cloaks so casually you might easily miss them."

p.s relate to aboriginal and convict past/history and ongoing issues today.

I'm sure you have familiarized yourself sufficiently with the Australian history for the purpose of this project. (So I'll not bore you with a lop-sided or twisted version of the history)
As for the Australian culture ---- here's my interpretation of the quote ---One would imagine that a traumatic past would inculcate greater sensitivity in any culture. That the scars would serve as reminders for humility.
Instead, the city wears the traumas like "cloaks" - discard able clothing, and is a "good-times" city.
Perhaps the painful past - indignities afflicted on the aboriginals as well as the shameful past - of convicts, is easily discarded and disowned at free will.

By ongoing issues I presume you mean the Cronulla to the Melbourne discriminations ? Well you haven't mentioned the R-word, but it is a trait common to imperialists - as it is a useful tool in propagating forced rule.
