Target is definetly having them 12/17.

I work for Target and I saw in the office its marked off on the calender.

So be ready for Target on 12/17. They will have Wiis and it will probably be the last shipment before XMAS

I even got a sheet yesterday that had a note if them getting it 12/17 but now that i saw it on a calender its confirmed.

sweet, my girlfriend's family wants one.

i was going to call up nintendo and lie and tell them that my wii is giving me a corrupted memory error and hope they will send me out an advanced replacement unit
then i just keep the unit, would only cost retail + $5

but waiting outside of target is a better idea

yeah, your right. i was thinking along the lines of when i got an advanced replacement on my ds lite.
your right, you'd need a lot of stuff to make a full system

i was honest and sent in my broken one

i work at target too.. i can also confrim this

target is kinda stupid, they create 2nd and 3rd launchs.. becasue they hold them for thier AD.. so they "can have product for the guest" when in reality it gets leeked out like this, and then people line up overnight and we sell the in the first 30 seconds.. so we still dont have any product for the guest.. and then the guest demand it becasue its in the AD.. and i tell them "ok ill go pull one from the back, if im not back in 2 or 3 weeks, just wait longer" ....

target is stupid

If it's anything like last week you can show up 20 mintes before they opened and be the first one there in my area.

I'll be there an hour early at least this time though.

yeah i know, i own a wii

however it's not worth the hassle, because you only get the core unit, no controllers, no power/av cord and no sensor bar or wii sports

your better off waiting outside of target for an hour on sunday

no, it's a smart move.

Alternatives could have been :

1) Target just allow the Wiis arrive at stores randomly, get put directly on shelves, a guest sees it and buys it, leaves.
2) Target sends them direct to store without people at store-level 's knowledge so nobody knows that they'll have stock for ad.

Seriously, if Target higher-ups didn't want us to know at store level when we were receiving them, we wouldn't know. They *WANT* us to leak this "priveleged" information.

By creating these new "launches", it creates new hype for the system and it creates an atmosphere that puts more pressure on buying accessories and games (where they make all of their money).

I should work in Minneapolis

nice I'm gonna line up early sunday morning and hope to get mine. Wish me luck

Oh ya and do you know if any accessories such as controllers and games will be available then or just the system??
