So PS2 and PS3 dont charge for online play yet Xbox and 360 do???

XBL might be the best in the market but its not certainly the best online system. I will say that the PS3's online system is very lag free that's really all you need an online experience to be... free and lagless.

Poor, poor game developers. NBA 07 PS3 they had to spend all that time making everyone in the league look, basically, just like in real life. I mean they've been having to do it since the PS1/N64 days but there's just so much excruciating detail now. (btw how are the Suns rated? my team. . lol)

The devs for Tecmo NBA Basketball had it made. . a few blobs of pixels and they're done. Not only that, but everyone from Patrick Ewing to John Stockton was pretty much the same color.

nba live 06 on teh 360 was already photo-realistic in regards to the players. they even did the same pre-free-throw dribbles and stuff as the individual players do in real life.

Lag free is not the only thing that makes a good online system.

PS3's online doesn't support any type of real unified system. No PS3 Online functionalities are intergrated into the games....meaning, they each use their own system. You have to log all the way out of a game, to the main menu to see if your friends are on. If you send them an invite, you have to hope they're playing the same game....or else they won't get it. But there's no way for you to know what they're doing....just that they're online. But even if you get an invite...you can't just accept it. You have to actually go find the game and join...it's more like a note that your friends are playing this certain game. This among other things is a HUGE HUGE HUGE hurdle they have to overcome.

On the 360 (as a lot of you know) the online, and community features are done very well. All the friends lists are intergrated into one full system on every game. You can see who is online, and what they're doing at anytime. You can send invites to anyone at anytime, and it will jump them right to your lobby. New friends you make in games, will be transferred to your friendsd list, there's a ratings system that carries over, there's match making, etc., etc.

ps3's online system so far has been lag free for me, just give it some time and sony will "borrow" xbox's live features and offer it to us for free

Do you have a ps3?
Granted you do need to log off a game to see your friends list but when you're playing theres popups that shows who signed on and off of the network, also the friends list does show what game your friend is playing

It's been how many years since XBL was released? It's not like it's a brand new thing.

If it was going to resemble live at any point, you would have it already

fact is, the ONLY thing that keeps ps3 online alive in comparison to xbox live is that you don't have to pay 3 bucks a month for it.
