Yeah, I was quite impressed by how they handled it. There were a shitload of references to the G1 storyline and the original movie.

I don't remember them too much, but from what I do remember there were references. Plus it met my expectation of big arse robots smashing shit up.

I don't remember the cartoon at all, I just went cause a whole group of my mates were going. Best decision I've made in ages, as a standalone movie it rocked

I have no idea how true or not it was to the cartoon etc, but that doesn't matter to me obviously.
