Its one of the awesome movies which I have watched. There are many people who critices this movie but whatever the case when a person feels so happy seeing a movie that is the best oscar any movie can get. And this movie has taken million's of fans on its stride.

I hope so too  :sigh: Its been a long time since my favourite film of the year was even nominated, I actually have something to be excited about this year at the Oscars :woot:

Thanks for the soundtrack list, I am so obsessed with Jai Ho right now.

Im desperate to see this, we planned to go on Sunday past but that fell through, hopefully this weekend.

:thud: :woot:  Tuesday is when it comes out on DVD/movie in the United States. I am SO buying it!!!

So happy to see the movie take home a bunch of awards.

And it was nice to see the cast all together including the little ones. I loved watching them do the whole red carpet thing, their interviews were too cute. I'm going to miss seeing them together as well.

I am so happy for this movie that it won all these awards. It deserves it. Many of the critics felt it didn't show a real portrayal of Mumabi life etc but they have to know now that it rocks :P no matter if its not totally realistic. :)

The soundtrack really adds to the film, my favorites are "Latika's Theme", "O Saya", "Jai Ho" and "Ringa Ringa".

I've seen this film a few times now and I like it more every time I see it. I love seeing the cast out promoting the film everywhere. Does anyone know why Madhur Mittal hasn't been out here or even to the award shows?

:yay:

Great to see the kids at the end. So happy for the movie

Such a great year for the movie, I'm going to miss seeing the cast at all the functions now.

The story of Jamal Malik, an 18 year-old orphan from the slums of Mumbai, who is about to experience the biggest day of his life. With the whole nation watching, he is just one question away from winning a staggering 20 million rupees on India's "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating; how could a street kid know so much? Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road, of vicious encounters with local gangs, and of Latika, the girl he loved and lost. Each chapter of his story reveals the key to the answer to one of the game show's questions. Each chapter of Jamal's increasingly layered story reveals where he learned the answers to the show's seemingly impossible quizzes. But one question remains a mystery: what is this young man with no apparent desire for riches really doing on the game show? When the new day dawns and Jamal returns to answer the final question, the Inspector and sixty million viewers are about to find out. At the heart of its storytelling lies the question of how anyone comes to know the things they know about life and love.

How amazing was this film? It deserves all the praise it's getting and more. So beautiful and emotional

I didn't have the chance to see any other nominee movie before the Oscars because in my country there were only Slumdog Millionaire and the Benjamin Bottom one. (misspelled I know :) ) I chose to see Millionaire and it grew on me. By the time the ceremony started I was totally rooting for them. I'm glad I wasn't mistaken!
It's not the perfect movie but the script was quite original and the actors were honest enough not to be pretentious. I simply loved the music and even the final choreography was a genious touch. Just to remind the audience that it's still Bollywood

I liked the film but I feel it's overrated. I thought Dev Patel performance was seriously lacking.

:yay: I'm glad you enjoyed the movie kayrey and shippercrazy!

And OMG, the ani! :thud: I love that scene!
