I liked the film but I feel it's overrated. I thought Dev Patel performance was seriously lacking.

Slumdog Millionaire kids head to LA for the Oscars

By Bollywood Hungama News Network, February 20, 2009 - 18:24 IST

There was absolute chaos (but a very 'cultured' one this) at the Mumbai International Airport yesterday as it saw the the supercool child actors of Slumdog Millionaire boarding their flight to attend the Academy Awards to be held in Los Angeles on Sunday. These young brats included the likes of Ayush Khedekar, Tanay Chheda, Madhur Mittal, Tanvi Lonkar and gang. This was one trip which was just heaven-sent to these kids, which was echoed in the feelings of their proud parents.

Amidst all this excitement was a super-proud -but-slightly- tensed mother of one of the kids. And she had every reason to be so, for her son, after attending the prestigious Oscar ceremony that takes place on Sunday, has to rush back to Mumbai, to appear for his S.S.C. board examinations.

Way to go, kids. We sincerely pray that the film wins the Oscar trophy.

I liked Dev's performance too. He didn't overdo it, and I can't stand over-acting. The actress was gorgeous.

I loved this movie. It sort of reminded me of a feel-good version of "City of God" which is one of my favorite movies of all time.

And the child actors were phenomenal.

The dancing at the end was amazing :D the child actors dancing were so cute :back_hug: I really wanted an animated icon of that scene :sigh:

I just downloaded the soundtrack today and it's amazing! Highly recommend that you all buy it :)

 Especially when it wasn't even made as an Oscars-type movie! And it came so close to not being made at all, it's insane how well it's done. There's just something about the story that grabs people :sigh:

It was so refreshing to see this film win Best Picture and just the culture that it brought to the Oscars. How amazing that AR Rahman? It was just unbelievable!

FINALLY got to see the movie (it's the first movie I've seen in like 3-4 months...). I absolutely loved it!! It was soo beautiful, and the ending was just amazing. I the wish I could have gotten to see it sooner, but it was well worth the wait!

And as I'm writting this, the soundtrack is downloading onto my computer from itunes

I thought Dev did an excellent job. But the child actors completely blew away the adult ones, mainly because they had the more challenging material.

I saw this over the weekend. Amazing. I loved it. The child actors totally owned the movie for me especially young Jamal. I loved the flashback part at the end.

Oh, I really want to see this! I've heard only great things about it so far, so I'm looking forward to when it finally comes out here.

IA. The children were amazing! I love how they weren't even actors, they were just citizens.

And the dancing at the end was ACE!

Me too

It is such a great film that it needs to be recognized. It brings attention to some much. I for one did not know much about India and now I do. I know a lot more because of this movie and it really brings things to the table.
