i am in love with sixteen candles. the first time i saw this video was on my 16th birthday...and i laughed so hard i almost cried. it reminded me of my life.

Well, at least that's something.

Omg, I loved after that part when she kicked him! :lmao:

 Oh - you mean Long Duc Dong says that, right? Hee!

Love.this.film. In fact, even my grandmother loved it - we saw it in the theater when it came out and she still remembers it with a smile to this day.

My favorite part - Molly/Sam getting felt up by her grandmother. :lmao: How utterly humiliating!

I loved Long Duck Don. He was hilarious and constantly cracked me up in this film. There was a scene, a think near the end of the movie where the main guy visits Sams house in search of her and Long Duck Don answers the door - the best part of that scene was when the main guy asks where Sam is and Long Duck Don answers:
"She's getting married."
The main guy looks confused. "Married?"
"Yeah, married."
"Married?"
"Yes, Married." Long Duck Don closes the door in his face and the main guy turns around and mutters to himself, "married?"
Long Duck Dons voice comes from the otherside of the door yelling, "Married!"

:lmao: I was laughing so hard in that scene. It was just hilarious.

Yeah me too! When I heard about it I was like nooo. Generally sequels to great, fun movies are so bad.

But then again, I would like to know what happened to them..

Oh and thanks for the Welcome :D

I never really got the romantic aspect of this movie. The leads exchange maybe 2 lines during the movie. It's great as a comedy though.

 I did it just before too. I'm always gettingPretty in Pink and 16 Candles mixed up.

I would have thought 16 Candles would have a soundtrack  There was some great songs in the movie. The dance for example. I love that dance scene

i love the part when the foreign guy gets drunk, and falls asleep in the tree:lol: then falls on jake...:lmao:

Anji- Hot topic is a great place to go, I buy alot of my clothes there. I want to get this shirt too, its great!

Oh wait, I'm so sorry, I thought this was the PIP thread! Yeah, ok I haven't found one for this. I'm so sorry, lol.

Hey, Passion Wagon!

I had the luxury of seeing this in the theater with my grandmother, when it came out. I was in college by then, but only my Freshman year (must have come out in the spring...), so I was still close enough to highschool and my 16th birthday to love it.

Plus, the scene where the grandmother feels out Molly Ringwald! We could not stop laughing. Such a wonderful film, and my favorite John Hughes film, for some reason...

She put on some weight, but other than that, she pretty much looks the same.

I'm not sure about the whole sequel thing. It just seems weird to do one after so long.

Hiya, Sammy - it's great to have you posting on the boards!

Just so we're clear - please do NOT start a list. We're not into lists on this board because we have plenty to talk about without them and they're considered star posting. Don't feel bad or anything - just letting you know. If you have any questions send me a Private Message, okay? :)

What's NOT to love about this film? Really - definitely the best John Hughes movie.
