^^^I could not agree more, if it doesn't effect how the movie is as a whole, why do it?

I don't know if I really liked it persay, it was really weird, but great for the geek. I did like how she was like, "You know what I liked best?" Then he's like my clean close shave, and you can hear that barbershop quartet in the back singing clean, close shave. I don't know why, but I always laugh my ass off at that point.

Hey, you two - welcome to the boards!

Yes, Gedde Watanabe as Long Duk Dong is so good he practically steals every scene he's in. :D

And you know, the guy who played Jake Ryan's now (and has been for the last 15 years or so) a guy who designs, builds and sells his own furniture. That's totally cool (I have an old boyfriend who does that - fabulous stuff). And he's 45 years old, now! I mean, I'm 40 so I shouldn't be surprised but since he hasn't been in a film since 1991 he's forever stuck in my mind as young Jake Ryan...

Which is funny because I have the same trouble with Anthony Michael Hall in Dead Zone (my mind keeps flipping back and forth between this totally hot guy my age and the geek from the John Hughes films!).

Sixteen Candles was on tv today though I missed half of it since I was at work.

I guess it was just supposed to set up what could be starting between them, and leave the rest up to our imaginations. But yeah....we all would've liked to have seen more, lol.

Ohhhh Lord, I know! I can never watch that scene with a straight face, well, I can't watch the whole movie with a straight face!

And what about when Sam is answering the "sex questions" and she loses the paper after Jake obviously saw her answering it and then she goes, "I hope whoever found it didn't know it was me", something like that...

She never knew Jake read that thing, right? Kinda weird! I bet Jake went "whoa" when he saw Sam's answers. So sweet considering that got him thinking about her.

Omg, that was hilarious! I loved the "Dum-Da-Da-Dum" music when she turned around and saw him, lol.

PiCkLeS4dAwSoN- I just don't see why they make different versions or why they cut things out when it has nothing to do with ratings. It's odd...

Claudia - was this the first time you'd seen the film? I'm shocked, but also a little envious because you get to experience it fresh. :)

uh ok,sorry about the list thing
i had no idea :)

awwww i want so bad the dvd coming out in italy.
the only one available is the pretty in pink one, without extra.

Oh, hahhaha! Yeah. :lmao: It's such a weird scene but they sold it and it's hilarious!

I have to admit, I always feel so cheated. The ending is perfect but so unsatisfying. I didn't want to see them together holding hands, kissing on every corner, but yeah, maybe the kiss could've been longer. At least.

But again, it is such a perfect ending.

 Hi there! For my first post on this forum, I thought it should be for this movie because it's one of my faves. I grin like a fool everytime I see this movie and Samantha comes out of the church and all the cars clear away and Jake is waiting for her. :sigh: So romantic and funny.

I heard about the sequel too, but I thought that they were gonna do it as a tv movie on the USA network or something. But then again, that was a while ago that I heard that.
