Many critics say that this episode is a marked improvement. If it is, I'll be giddy to see a lot of people on the internet sheepishly admit, "Okay, MAYBE we overreacted?"
The series has potential, Glad the 2nd ep. is focused around one of the few characters I actually like (miracle is the hippie girl science teacher, right?). The only other character I can say I like so far is the librarian, shes funny. oh & the Assistant Principal.
Again I think this show has some potential but I don't see it doing good enough to get renewed for a 2nd season, but I could see reruns airing on Comedy central or AS someday.
Considering that almost everyone hated it, I thought the Pilot was pretty good. Maybe this episode will brighten up the hopes for those who despised the first episode.
Head to IMDB forums, and you'll see what I mean. Criticism is usually neutral to slightly negative, while a good chunk just said, "This was the WORST THING THAT HAS EVER AIRED ON TELEVISION!!!"...and that's not an exaggeration...
This show had decent ratings. It retained 77% of The Simpsons lead in audience, and improved 15% of what King of the Hill did in its timeslot. Something tells me it'll be renewed, lately Fox has seemed extra apologetic towards cancelling Arrested Development also.
