Can you really blame them? A lot of people weren’t impressed by this series; the fact that some Nielsen Families decided not to give it another chance is unsurprising considering the poor critical reaction. I have always advocated that people should watch two-to-three episodes of a series before they give up on it, but even on these forums, you’ve seen how most people are. When they get burned by a series, they tend not to give it a second chance; there are exceptions to that, of course, but an exodus of this magnitude doesn’t take place for no reason.
If people believe that the pilot was weak, Fox should have had the foresight to air a different episode first. They could have done that; it would have been odd, but hey, sometimes it’s worth it to make a better first impression.
Frankly, I didn’t find this episode much better than the first.
