I thought the little girl was a little too weird. Couldnt we have had a nice normal young girl?
As for Rory Culkin, just like macaulay and just like kieran, their acting sucks. They talk down to the other actors in a voice that just doesnt fit. Watch any culkin film bar home alone and you'll see what I mean.
Just as I thought we'd gotten rid of 2 culkins, another comes along.

Tried following the link to the US IMDB to read a review of Signs, but got an Access Denied page, implying that NTL users have been abusing the service.

I'm on an NTL broadband connection . Anyone else noticed the same problem?

Is it worth me sending a snotty email to NTL customer service (hahahaha - the non-entity crap waste of useless ignorance filled space that it is), or to rabroad News editor to try and work out what happened?

Just back from seeing it and I wasn't overly impressed. I think the core storyline was very good but I thought that it was spoiled by over sentimentality.
I realise that this maybe was the point of the whole thing, to deal with the emotional rather than the aliens etc, as is normal in similarly themed films, but for me, this didn't work. I felt little or no sympathy for the characters. In fact, I didn't really care if they were going to get through it or not.
And please, not another film deaturing a dead mother / wife.

Sorry is disagree here but having just seen Signs I was a little disappointed after seeing the trailers.

I enjoyed much more Unbreakable and Sixth Sense. For me there was a lot of build up and rather action-less film time before the great, but pretty much predictable ending.

i guess if we all liked the same things the world would be a boring place.

OK - is that enough? :D

I saw this last night, my girlfriend had rented it. I wasn't too bothered about seeing it as we had both had it spoiled by someone who said "Oh its not what you think its about, its about religion" Which led us to think that the crop circles were to do with god, that it wasn't an alien film and after lots of wondering about the circles you end up with a big religous ending. My girlfriend said after that when the lights came she was expecting these to be angels.
To be honest the film was spoilt by somebody telling us it was about religion cause we kept looking for signs (excuse the pun!) of that and whilst there was a sub-story about faith it wasn't predominant and the film was actually an alien film.
You could take the faith part as major if you want or as a sub-plot as it was done very subtle.
Overall it was a good film but I thought it started very slowly and had a poor ending - picked up in the middle though.
The water all over was obviously going to be significant - did anyone spot when they were watching the news of the circles throughout the world that one was from Wakefield, England? Bet the aliens didn't stop around long here with all the rain!

I was disappointed with the ending as we never really found out why the aliens had come, said they were "farming" humans but why? Why did water harm them when it is the source of all life?
The film just left too many unanswered questions for my liking.

yeah i just saw this for the first time..just rented it. Pretty good but not amazing.

It was very slow moving for most of it, only picking up pace near the end when the aliens actually get into the house.

There were some nice jumpy bits though, the 5.1 mixing was done very well i kept hearing nosies beind my head, spooky

:( Well I hated it. I thought it was a load of rubbish, and I was expecting so much after the brilliant "Sixth Sense"
Pure cheese. Even Mel Gibson couldn't save it and I'm a huge fan of his.
I wanted to walk out, but the other half said we'd paid, so we stayed. Waste of time.
