Should the US government provide free college education?

No. First, people don't have the right to go to college. Also, currently there are many grants out there for lower income families, along with very cheap loans.

When I went into college, my family was middle class but we "made too much" for me to qualify for enough financial aid. I got a partial scholarship for running because I worked my butt off in high school at that. Every single day after school and I knew it would lead to getting some financial assistance.

I also worked every summer and worked during my semesters at college. I biked and ran to and from work because I couldn't afford a car until my junior year in college.

Happiness and success are not gauranteed in the Constitution. You have the opportunity to pursue it......which means hard work.

No. European countries do that, and we know they are all socialists.

You getting an education benefits you, and not society as a whole. So you should pay for it, and not society.

Edit: College degrees aren't worthless now?
