people's kids? Shouldn't you have to be able to pay for your own child's schooling as well as their health care and living needs?

This isn't Obama's socialism, this is the tax system. Even if you are single and never plan to have children, you should pay to educate other kids, because, as the adults of the future, they will become the doctors, lawyers, teachers, police officers, and countless other professions, which benefit society and therefore you.

Education is a common good. I have no children, but am happy to pay the property taxes that support our school district.
