Should i plug the RCA from my Deck to the Input or output of my amp?

i have fooled around with the rca's and for some reason it sounds like more bass comes out when i plug it into the output of my amp.. but it suppose to be plugged into the input right.. will this mess up or damage my subs, amp or deck?
so i shouldnt plug it into the output.. what will happen if i do
