Should a Kicker Amp 300.1 be able to push 2 12" subs?

My buddy gave me his Kicker 300.1 amp, which I believe has around 400 watt peak power. I have 2 SS Autotek 12" subs and was seeing if this amp has the power to make these subs sound good? I got them wired up to get one of the subs hitting really nice, but I'm struggling getting both of the subs going and sounding good... How is the Kicker 300.1 when trying to power 2 12" subs at 4ohms? Thanks!
 
well from what i found for specs on the autotek subs...one sub is 500 RMS. so if thats right, that kicker amp couldnt even push one to its full performance.
 
That completely depends on the RMS and OHM rating of the speakers. for example lets assume the amp is making 300W rms @ 2 ohm. In that scenario two subs with a 100-150w rms wired in parallel at 2ohm would slam. two subs with 500w rms wired in series at 8ohms would barely make any sound at all. You dig!?
