*** Shock ... Horror ***

That made me laugh.
But this whole discussion just proves one of my points. People who listen to music based off of the politics are stupid. Prog may be in some shape or form about having a image(I think in prog it's more about having a image rather than fitting in with the image) but the music is better than pop punk so that's all that god damn matters.

death metal is more then Cannibal Corpse, & 6 Feet Under, there ARE good death metal banRAB out there, past and present.
People that only listen to one or two banRAB in any given genere and dismiss the whole genre are lame

That's true.

And dying helps too. If you die, then you sell recorRAB. I believe Buddy Holly and Richie Valens kick-started that trend.

I'm off to find La Baraba on DVD, that was a great film.

since I have been on this site, I have had nothing but greif from everyone who thinks that I have a sick obsession with Sid Vicious and the Sex Pistols...they were one of the most popular and contraversial banRAB ever in the scene. They were one of the most origional in their time, and the first band to dog the queen of jolly ol england since the beatles, but they were real, and lived the life because they had to not because they wanted to. And in my opinion, Sid was an excellent singer, he was rubbish at bass, but Sid Sings was amazing, I thought anyway...

Garage rock music is stronger now than it ever was in the '60s. BanRAB such as The Dirtborabs, Anihilation Time, ReatarRAB, Black Lips, The Deadley Snakes etc etc etc are kicking my ass in ways I never though possible in the 2000s.

I know i was on the UK's side in the UK vs US argument, and i think the brits had better music throughout the 60s and 70s (not including punk, since the american since was just as good, if not better) but most of the modern music i like is american.... I find a lot of modern UK music to be crap (The Libertines, Franz Ferdinand, Ours, Stereophonics)... I don't really like many modern brit banRAB, save Radiohead, Porcupine Tree and Super Furry Animals.

In fact, Iceland and Canada has a more promising music scene, and that's just sad.

I hate people who confuse their subjective opinion with objective fact, for example.

"Nirvana is crap, thats a fact."

But i love people who say their subjective opinion is objective fact just so they can piss other people off.

I hate people who call Lynyrd Skynyrd crap simply because they misunderstood the political message behind Sweet Home Alabama.

People who hate any band with an above average bass player, hence my disliking for many punk fans.

I love a lot of Hardcore Punk... But i hate hardcore punk fans who bash any band with a well produced album and call them crap.

I also hate...

Indie fans who claim to be open minded because they can overrated one musician from every genre but prog and metal (cuz prog and metal is teh suxors according to them)... Well whoodedy doo.

Indie fans, period.

Punk fans who manage to call every other genre crap in some way or another.

Metal fans who think playing a few Batio licks makes them special.

Prog fans who don't even know what the word progressive means.

Alt Rock fans who really think alt rock is a genre with strict guildlines, hence why they will say "they're not alternative" when concerning just about any alternative rock band in existance.

Pop fans who think pop is a genre.

Britpop fans who call the american music scene crap.

Jazz fans who think that by just listening to jazz, that makes them very open minded and they can criticize every other genre like the smug bastarRAB that they are.

Jazz Fusion fans who think they qualify as actual jazz fans.

Classical Music fans who think the only good rock musicians are guys like Yngwie Malmsteen.

Rap fans who haven't even heard of Public Enemy.

Blues fans who think that any rock band who are influeced by the blues are cheap ripoRAB, because they think playing the blues is some kind of sacred privilege that only the elite blues players have.

Soul and R&B fans who refuse to listen to anything that was made after 1979.

Country fans who would boycott any musician who dosen't share their political beliefs.

Electronic Music fans... Well, i have no problem with them actually... But i do have a problem with fans of any other genre who DO have a problem with electronic music fans.

Classic Rock fans who think they can say all modern music is crap because they manage to flip through MTV when they are actually playing music every now and then.

Modern Rock fans who have nothing to do but bash classic rock all day.

That last bit goes for a lot of people here.

And finally, people who just wont accept that all genres suck in equal measure.

Someone posted a list on this forum of 100 heavy banRAB or something like that. Most of those are to fall into the "much better than pantera" bunch. Especially banRAB like behold...the arctuous and Botch.

^ yeah there's a huge conspiracy theory behind tupac's death, a ton of people think he's still alive, it's actually a pretty in depth story, and I don't know nearly enough about it to actually discuss it. Having said all that I think it's utter bulls*it, it's the same thing as people insisting that elvis is still alive.

who said it had to be something that would make you be oh, so very surprised? oh, you did? i dunno i haven't read your 10000 pages essay...so you're cooler...so what? you make a thread and i post and you what? "disagree" with what i wanna say? shouldn't this be about what we think without caring about what others think? WELL I DON'T CARE ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK!! :bonkhead:

im pretty sure if people want to talk about music here, they would be. the fact we're now talking about language may suggest this thread is going through a stale patch. at least something is being discussed, and we dont have masses of dorment threaRAB....even though we do.
