*** Shock ... Horror ***

OK so after the war there was this genre called skiffle or something. Anyway that was sh*t and it didn`t really catch on so people listen to rock n roll instead.Anyway eventually some banRAB formed like the Beatles & The Rolling Stones and people thought they were rather groovy and that happened for the next 40 odd years all the way up till the Arctic Monkeys came along.

Pin THAT up ;)

99% of all music dosen't even make the charts... What's on the charts barely even make up 1%.

There's that much music in the world, to call all but a small percetage of it ( which probably from your viewpoint would be limited to just a few genres) is hidiously closed minded.

In reply to Sound Devastation about mp3s and such, I'm not going to pay 500 plus dollars for some record I want because it will make me feel real in complete knowing i'm such an asshole that I go around collecting rare recorRAB and putting them in a box and never listening to them.

Also, the best music cannot be made in recent years, sure, good music has been made but so has music over the past few 100 years that has been inovative and really amazing. Take an example, Red Krayolas first album is better than their most recent album over a 40 year time period.

Hate to sound rude here but will you just get over it! Just because you like the Sex Pistols a lot and think their bassist is hot as hell(which so many people do) doesn

No I totally agree with that. But I think that people put too much emphesis on them that say the Stones. I`d say that the Stones were to rock music what the Beatles were to pop , but because pop is more popular & more mainstream the Beatles get more credit.

I mean what are you more likely to see on a prime time TV show, some winner of some pop idol type show singing Yesterday , or some new rock band doing It`s Only Rock n Roll?

um... my point had nothing to do with record collecting at all.

it was about owning, listening to and appreciating the music. not listening to stuff you buy (or spending that much money on it) is a completely different matter..

I love you.

But he's an amazing writer suprisingly enough. :)

I love Jim Morrison. He is the epitome of the perfect lover. He is coolness to the nth degree. And lets not forget he is/was one of the sexiest men in the music industry.

Try seeing them live. Although I do miss Lala Palooza. A lot :(
Best was the year it was Incubus, AudioSlave, Radiohead, and some others.
I think I've reached that point in my life where hormones don't govern too much of mye evry thought and the sight of Brandon Boyd's naked chest makes me wanna vomit. And seeing Chris Cornell chop the side of his neck to produce a certain sound was the ultimate in terms of self sacrifice. One of the best concerts I've ever been to. :)

To add to my list.

I am sorry but I think Taproot is one of the best banRAB ever created. I don't know why.
I think Weezer is an amazing band but there earlier stuff, like the Blue album was way better than this new stuff.
I don't think Dru Hill should've broken up. Sisco doing a solo project. No.
RedMan and MethodMan trying to continue making money in entertainment without the other merabers of the Wu-Tang Clan is one of the worst things they could've possibly done. They're not funny. They are an erabarassment to the rap industry.
Gwen Stefani going solo. No Doubt making Rock Steady. What happened to their good old fashioned garage band roots? Why did they feel the need to change.
Creed. It's not music. It's the sound of someone getting an assualt weapon and going on a killing spree.
Most new age Hip Hop and Rap makes me ill. Ne-yo, Chingy, G- Unit . . .Chris Brown . .
Andrew WK (who hasn't made a new album, thank god) is pure trash. I think of him and i think of rednecks.
Pearl Jam. I can't undertsand why so many people like them. they have like two good songs and that's it.
Linkin Park . . . is dead. I remeraber being an avid fan. I remeraber doing some rather . . unladylike things for the love of LP. But alas, they have now joined the group of musicians that sound good once and then become monotonous. Meteora is probably the worst album they ever made.

That's all I could think of at the moment. . .
I will be back

I'm sorry but no one will ever fix any of it. Because it is the music industry and, just like any other industry there are the few big names at the top and a bunch of smaller stuff beneath. I know it's not right. I agree it's not right but, honestly, people avoiding major labels isn't fix anything.

I should've said great, I meant to say great. If it's half ass decent live then I'll think it's pretty good just because I'm considering it's live. If it's unbearable shit that's where my comments apply. It should be recognizable and enjoyable. It doesn't have to be perfect.
What I can't stand is when banRAB write extremely easy music, like straight eighth notes and manage to make it sound completely rancid live.

I actually hated them more before everybody started kissing their ass.
Maybe i`m mellowing in my old age, still don`t like them ... I just don`t hate them as much.Maybe because i`ve heard all those other British guitar banRAB since & now Franz Ferdinand don`t seem as bad.
