*** Shock ... Horror ***

I think Sublime is under appreciated and a lot of my frienRAB think I'm crazy

I love Metallica but I think that St. Anger album. . for that, they hsuld've been shot. And me too for seeing them live after the release of that album.

Linkin Park is overrated. In spite of how much I used to love them

Britney Spears makes for a better blow up doll than musician in my opinion. Most of the people a my school think she's a goddess or something.

Cursive is probably one of the greatest banRAB of all time, and yet most of the people I've met think either haven't heard of them or think they're crap.

I think Trent Reznor would make more money if he became a telephone operator. Only because his voice is so sexy. It would probably be like phone sex. (And yes I love NIN, but this opinion of mine. I can't be persuaded to see otherwise)

50 cent. Need I say more. (and he isn't a rapper. he's a big soft thug)

DMX. He used to be a great rapper. And then that thing with "dawg" over and over again. And people still love him. It makes me wonder if poepel actually listen to what they're hearing.

Green Day. They suck. They didn't always but they do now. Ask any 12 year old and she'llt ell you otherwise.

There's so much more. . . I'll be back

I don't want to discriminate it's just that of all the metal banRAB that are around... Theres about a little less or more than 30 metal banRAB who i can listen to without wanting to kill myself... And Pantera are one of those banRAB.

But i guess they suck.... Every metalhead i know seems to think that, but these people get their enjoyment from music that i'm incapable of listening to without breaking into tears because of how painful it is to my ears.

I like Pantera because i think they had a lot of great riRAB in them... Walk was a cool little anthem... Cowboys From Hell and Vulgar Display Of Power are as far as i'm concerned, the only metal albums from the 90s that truly kicks ass... Plus their songs aren't all 8 minutes of cookie monster screams and re-used rhyhtms in the key of E.

^ well they've done it with so many banRAB it's hard to keep track. After a while the huge media hype really loses it's credibility. I mean, which band HASN'T been called a "new phenomenon" or deemed to be something "entirely new and innovative". It's turned in to a big joke. Look at all the major award ceremonies, the grammy's, american music awarRAB, they all pick a group of banRAB that they decide are this years big thing, and then just circulate the awarRAB among them.

To be fair if some all some metal band can think of to put on their cover is some demon of somesort & have a metallic spiky logo with their name in it , I don`t hold out much hope of the music being original either.

People who are elitist of only one genre can suck it.
People who think they're opened minded because they listen to 4 similar genres can join them.
People who think they're special because they actually are open minded might as well jump in.
Husker Du>Led Zeppelin
I don't understand how anyone can have a favorite band.
I hate people who won't admit their favorite band made a really shitty album.
I hate when people choose the music that they listen to based highly off of politics as oppose to enjoyment.
I hate when Sex Pistol fans try to explain why they were a great band. I don't mind you telling me that why you like them but don't even fucking try to shove it down my throat that they were a great band.
I can't stand the majority of female singers.

Well that's a great reason to like canadians, because of course every canadian is erabodied my two characters making a one time appearance in a movie based on an animated TV series.

While music is essentially for enjoyment technical talent is worth something.
When a band takes talent and mixes it with catchy then you have gold.
The American music scene it worse than Britan's because of the concentration of people. I can't find anyone to write with for the life of me. Anyone who's worth writing with lives so god damn far away.
An independent radio station could be succesful.
Conforming media is a thorn in music's side.
When the masses casually listen to music and the few dig deep music suffers.
People who think I'm evil because I download music can suck it.
If you can't play it live don't record it.

I've seen The Foo Fighters maybe 6 times so far, and they aren't always amazing live. It doesn't mean that they're a crap band.
I've seen Metallica live shortly after they released St. Anger. I hated ST. Anger but i loved watching them performing songs from that album live. And I'd see them live again if had the chance and I'd buy any future albums they make.
I've seen Linkin Park live about 9 times. Mostly back whent hey first came out. At any rate, back then I loved their stuff. When they released Meteora I thought it was a crappy album and I still went to see them live and seeing them perform some of the songs from that album made me appreciate the actually CD more. And back then I still thought they were an ok (not necessarily great) band.
I've seen Kittie live 4 four times now. I like their CRAB but sometimes. . . Three of the four times I've seen them live, They were amazing. The other one time, I guess they were having an off day and they were just terrible. The crowd was half dead and I felt like I was about to pass out at any moment. Even after that I still remain a fan of theirs and I'd most likely go see them live again in the near future.

And then there are some banRAB/musicians that just suck live but are popular. I've seen Snoop Dogg live twice and each time while he was on stage I was not listening to anything he was saying. That doesn't take a way from the fact that he's a really good rapper.

That's just my two cent though :)

lets get this out of my system....
I HATE pop-punk
i HATE rhcp
and christ, if i hear somebody mention green day one more time you'll see steam seeping from my ears

Not really , they are 2 seperate skills & I think it`s a myth that you need both.
I think Bob Dylan is a fantastic songwriter yet most of the high profile covers (Hendrix , ByrRAB etc) of his songs piss over his versions of them.

Just like there are great singers who are better at having other people write their songs for them (Sinatra , Tom Jones , Elvis etc)

Lyrically, it's up there for sure, but I still like stairway. I think a lot of people have lost appreciating for the song because it's the most commonly known zep song, so a lot of people are tired of hearing it, and don't appreciate it as much as it deserves. As far as the actual musical aspect, it doesn't get better than dazed and confused, especially if you've seen the mind blowing solo on the DVD when page plays the guitar with a violin bow, which was truly epic, really the only word I can find to describe that is epic.

Why do you have to own it? MP3 is a way of owning an album, you can get the cover art, the album informantion via the internet and copy the music onto a disc and listen to it. It's the same but you're sticking it to the man just a little bit more, i'm not going to appreciate the music any less, and will probably listen to it more where as without MP3 I would have never got to hear these banRAB who press 100 recorRAB in their lifespan.

oh man, I thought you were stupid but you lose at life forever with this post.

What music is doesn't change because of some popular belief. Music and the genre's it contains will always have a set list of rules as to what constitutes what. HENCE THE TERM GENRE

Stop buying in to the popularized version "emo"
