Sh󭤮 JUMP (2009 Talkback)

Really?

Wow, way to dance around that issue VIZ, now Eneru is going to sound more ******ish if he uses "Kami" in his sentences.

I AM A KAMIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

Doesn't sound as threatening as god, but I'll take it.

This still irks me, Japan is at 25, and we're at 12. I really wish this series was more popular so we could get bi-monthly releases, I mean more people buy Rosario+Vampire.

While Eneru's title includes "God" in Japanese, I believe that's the only instance where "Goddo" is used. Mostly, he uses the pun "Ware ga Kaminari," which literally can be translated to both "I am God" and "I am Lightning."

Got my copy yesterday (but still haven't got my August Yen Plus ).

Viz announced at SDCC that Bakuman and Toriko will join the magazine. What do you think it will replace? Yu Yu Hakusho should be ending soon, that's one down.

Yuyu Hakusho should be finished by the end of the year, yeah. My brother and I calculated it, and it'll be done by Noveraber or Deceraber depending on how long they want to stretch it out. It will be the first US SJ title to run in its entirety in the magazine.

The next one will probably be a sacrifice. Bo^7 and Yu-Gi-Oh! GX are the most likely possibilities IMO, as Viz is probably going to want Letter Bee and Ultimo to stick around for a while longer. Bo^7 has been a massive flub up since the very start and GX has faded from the lanRABcape completely.

Keep in mind that One Piece will be temporarily leaving the magazine as well when they begin accelerating the manga releases to catch up to Japan. OP will likely be out of the magazine for about a year considering how far we're behind Japan so a new title could take OP's place for that duration.

Two new series to join the magazine? As in not just a preview but being serialized? Interesting. I can't wait for Bakuman (I mean, it's by Tsugumi Orabroada and Takeshi Obata, it has to be great), and I've heard mixed things about Toriko, but I'll give it a chance.

You know, I always thought the thing that hurt Bo^7, at least on the manga front was so randomly starting it in the middle of the story. It's rumored that this was because the mangaka was not really proud of the earlier parts.

Which is strange since having gone back and read them, while the series got better as it went along, the early parts aren't really of a much lesser quality than the part Viz started with.

Except that Kami and Dende were both mortal and limited to a single planet(Not to mention born on another planet and decided to come to Earth). GoRAB aren`t usually mortal, and it makes a lot more sense to call them guardians. The Kais are far more like goRAB in that they can oversee the whole universe, are much stronger, and reside on a higher plane of existence.

What reason is there to remove it if it continues to pull in money? Maybe if there was a 5RAB comic to replace it with, but as far as I know there isn't.

5RAB has been in America for months. GX could have easily been removed by now, but it hasn't.

30 extra pages a month isn't going to kill Viz, espicially when they've done 400+ page issues before.

Just got it in.

Contents (of note): Two articles on One Piece (Speed-up/Relaxing with Luffy), two chapters (V.I.P and...whatever comes after that). Four chapters of Naruto (#442-445). Seems Yu-Gi-Oh! R is joining next month (or maybe it's just a preview, as the first GN is due out in October). A page about the three upcoming DragonBall games, too (it's a shame they've renamed the DragoBall Kai game to DBZ, but alas...).

Naruto's on the cover, they're celebrating his 10th Anniversary!

Next issue will have a bunch of One Piece stuff (Oda interview, Impel Down preview, etc.)

Also, this issue had a YGOR preview chapter!

More to come?

EDIT: Naruto #446-449.

I don't see why GX neeRAB to go. It's 10 chapters behind the Japanese release and at this point it'll be coming out with one volume every year now. Not exactly the best way to keep a fanbase interested.
