Skilled tradesmen are becoming more and more scarce in this country. The previous generations are retiring or approaching retirement, while the current generation has been told college is the only way to get a worthwhile job.

There absolutely is not "more and more people getting into trade jobs." There are more and more people getting worthless non-STEM college educations and having little useful contribution thereafter.

I can't even count how many articles I've seen pointing out that despite high unemployment, there are still TONS of skilled labor positions going unfilled because we have such a shortage of skilled tradesmen.

I don't know the details... but this is in Alabama, and I know damn well they were not taught anything about genetics or evolutionary biology or geology, or what they were taught was make believe bullshit to validate their ridiculous dogma. The older one is at a christian university right now, I have no idea if you need to take those tests you mentioned to get into such a school... they probably have to take the BAT's... the bible aptitude tests... BATshit insane is more like it.
