Sequels that were really bad.

I went to see the The Matrix when it was first released in 1999(I think)....I thought it was a great film and it was even better when I watched it again on TV a few years later.....I mention the Matrix because the trilogy has just been shown on ITV2 over the last 3 wks....Again watching the original reminded me what a fantastic film it was;..anyway I`d never seen the sequels and boy was I in for a shock....I just could`t believe how bad they were.It still amazes me the original cast signed up for sequels...but I`am sure the lure of countless $$$$ had something to do with their participation.

This is childish but the Lion King 2 was such a let down.

The original movie had so much heart and passion and brilliant characters.

The sequel was just cheap and blah.
The characters didn't make any sense, if Kovu wasn't Scar's son then why did he look just like him, why was he chosen to be king and who the fook is Zira if she wasn't Scar's mate?
And how come TImon and Pumbaa are afraid of Simba, the lost little cub they rescued and raised?

I know it's only a child's cartoon but god they could have made a fantastic sequel instead of the drivel they churned out.

Most sequels I've seen are mediocre but 2 particularly horrible ones are The Matrix Revolutions & Rob Zombie's remake of Halloween II.

Jaws 2. Despite the presence of good ol' Roy Scheider, it was terrible. There's no blood!

Transporter 2. The first had its moments, the second had none.

Matrix: Reloaded & Revolutions. They should've left it at just one rather good film. But noooooo....

Star Trek V - Indulgent cobblers.

The Exorcist 2 (absolute crap)
Ghostbusters 2 (I was really disappointed with this)
Halloween 3,8 (and both the Rob Zombie ones)
Nightmare On Elm St 2,4,5,6,7
Blair Witch 2

There is a version (the Renegade Version) which apparently does away with all the Zeist crap. According to imdb, inflation problems in Argentina caused the insurance company to take creative control. Russell Mulcahy tried to get his name removed, but couldn't for legal reasons. I loved the first one, but haven't seen this steaming turd since the cinema.
