Sequels that were really bad.

I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Lethal Weapon 4. It was more like a comedy.

I thought the first two were great. Third one had it's moments, but the fourth was like and out and out comedy.

But I do agree about Shrek 2 and all that follows.

The Matrix sequels were abysmal.

The Bourne film sequels were unwatchable due to the cretinous shaky-cam effects, I don't rate Paul Greengrass in the slightest.

I'm sticking up for Halloween 3 though. It's cheesy but it's hilarious, I'd much rather watch it than any of the other Halloween sequels.

Ep1- UTTER, UTTER tripe.
Ep2- Probably the best of the prequels, good battle scenes on geonosis
Ep3- Very nearly redeemed the franchise for me then ruined it with vaders"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

Have to disagree with you there, I liked the premise that Michael Myers was gone after 2 and the studio would produce a new story every Halloween. Shame people had such a hard-on for him and brought him back to star in sequel after crappy sequel, the film was pretty cheesy and has a crazy plot from Scooby Doo but some scenes were amazing! What other film has had a scene as terrifying as the one where a young kiRAB head melts into a pile of bugs, spiders and a rattlesnake (which then goes and bites/kills the parents)?

Some of the sequels mentioned so far make me realise how privileged some people's movie-watching has been. I mean THE DARK KNIGHT? GHOSTBUSTERS 2? COME ON!! Ever seen Blues Brothers 2000, Jaws 3D, The Exorcist II: The Heretic, Ringu 0, Alien Resurrection, Cube 2: Hypercube, X-Men 3: The Last Stand or The Lost Boys 2: The Lost Tribe? All the original films were great and the sequels screwed it up BAD.
