Sequels that should of happened and never did

Sequel that was clearly planned but never happened because the first film was soooo bad:
Lost in Space (1998)... the one with Matt le Blanc from FrienRAB showing what bad acting really is, and Gary Oldman as a dreadful GCI spider.

The end of the film was clearly set up for Lost in Space 2, but thankfully it never happened.

BTW Title of this thread should be Should have happened... Should of happened is just grammatical nonsense.

Grammar police, over and out!

That's the first time i have seen that trailer.I enjoyed reading some of the comments on youtube in which certain people thought it was for a real movie.

I'd like to see the sequel to The Golden Compass, which would be the book The Subtle Knife made into a book. I'm not sure if they will do it though. It's a shame if they don't, tehy left the big ending out of the first film for the sequel, and i think that the first film was aimed far too much for the younger or fmaily audience, that any sequels would have to be toned very much down and it would not be the same.
Really good books, i hope the Studios see sense and make another film.:)

Big Trouble in Little China

Interview with a Vampire

Alien 4 (The one they were going to make until the big wigs pissed off the writers by selling out with "Alien vs predator", this one was going to explain where they are from and their place and purpose in the universe)

Titanic 2

Lol, yeah I know it's old but still good for a laugh and whats interesting is that people still think it's a real trailer. :p

IMHO sequels are a complete waste of time and money and should never be made unless they were intended to be a part of a franchise or a trilogy etc in the first place (and even in many of those cases people really should try to show some restraint).

Almost without exception they are thrown together to cash in on the success of the original and are never thought through properly, too rushed to have decent storylines and ruin the good will built up by the first film all in the name of making a quick buck.

I am delighted that films that I enjoy like Who Framed Roger Rabbit and many of the others mentioned on this thread have not been tainted by lesser and unworthy sequels.

I always hoped for a The Goonies 2, there was mention of one being planned a couple of years ago, with them as adults. but I believe it's fallen through:(

Yeah I definitely agree with that! The odd one is good though, Spider-man, American Pie, Wayne's World, etc all had quite good sequels.

Nah, I'm happy with Team America as it is, but Trey Parker and Matt Stone do have other movies in the works so hopefully they'll be just as funny!

Tell that to Shepherd Book and Wash :)

I agree that another Serenity film could be made, but it would probably have to be a prequel slotting in between the end of Firefly and the begining of Serenity, rather than a sequel.
