Sequels that haven't been made or shouldn't have been made

If Alien Resurrection had not been mangled beyond recognition, it could have been a good movie from what I know of the original script. But the studio "knew best", limited the budget and hacked out half the story. None of that rubbish about a pink wobbly human/alien hybrid was in Joss Whedon's original story at all.

Agfree withteh sentiment but add Shrek 2 to the exceptions.

My personal villains would be Jaws 2 and 3 - the first was so good it should have been left alone.

I would like have seen an Italian Job 2 from the original film - and the remake should never ever have been made
 
They should have left Jaws alone ..... the original was brilliant.

The Matrix as well ..... the rest were just for the money.

Alien and Aliens were brilliant , I would pick Aliens above Alien. But the others should not have been made, they should be put down to a bad dream and a proper sequel made by James Cameron.

i think home alone 2 was great but 3 and 4 were awful, 3 wasnt too bad but wasnt home alone, i think it wud hav benifited from a different title. 4 was just pure slapstick crap which shud never hav been made, maybe why it went strate to DVD? and i hav also herd on the grapevine scream 4 is in production but there is a chance of Sydney bein killed off

The way they brought back Myers was laughable. Apparently it took him like 15 minutes to get up after falling off a building, kill some random person and dress the body up :rolleyes:

Sequels that should be made: NONE. EVER.

They're all a dreadful idea, even if some of them don't come out too badly. But a poor sequel diminishes the original somehow. If a film is really great, just let it stand. It's only the greedy studios that want to cash in on a hit film. Leave well alone, I say.
 
I agree. Not sure where I heard it but the idea of "From Dusk till Shaun" was being bandied around

Imagine it - the same style but with vampires!
 
I do so so agree.

I think there are a very few often-cited exceptions though - Toy Story, T2 and Aliens. Probably the case of the exception(s) prove the rule...

I agree with your thoughts in prinicipal, it neeRAB a very stable idea to be able to make a follow-on movie, the problem we've all seen in the past is the film industry realising that something is popular, and cashing in!! Devaluing some of the originality of the first film.... Rant Over!
