Senator wants disclosure on outsourced calls

the idea that keeping jobs stateside rather than outsourcing is going to considerably increase the costs of services is just bullshit. In the end too much outsourcing is hurting our economy not helping it, and the wage rates in these foreign countries (mostly india) has risen to the point where they are almost as much as they are here in the first place. The costs are in startup, utilities, and taxes, which can be offset if the government were to offer a tax incentive.

like the people who would be staffed at these call centers wouldn't be using the same scripts and be just as hard to communicate with. This will turn out awesome.

How about we just legislate that they have to have someone that can speak fucking English? Every time I have called my fucking bank I get put on with some fucking Paki that I can barely understand. Fuck that shit

Why not go a step further and just not allow any US company to have any work done outside the US? Not manufacturing, no banking, nothing.

I mean - we need more jobs here right?

by your logic, you should hire me to filter out your posts before they go on OT because i said so. its for the greater good of both OT and the labor market

i called allstate the other day as i had a question about the billing on my auto policy.

my call went to somewhere in india, the conversation was not an easy one.

i think i'm going to change my insurance company.

bad idea. It will have either
1) no affect on anything
2) cause consumer prices in the US to go up.

OR maybe putting people to work when unemployment is a serious problem in this country

why not, your already subsidizing plenty of retards from the rest of the world. You have any idea how much tax money our government gives in foreign aid, not to mention trade packages, reductions in tariffs and favors so that corporations can outsource in the first place? You dumbfucks don't even realize that we've been PAYING companies to send jobs overseas.

this is what i experienced the other day when i called allstate

for all the money i pay them (3 cars on an auto policy, homeowner's insurance, landlord's insurance and an umbrella policy) employ somebody in the united states for fuck's sake.

More powerful than any stupid fucking bill or regulation: the customer gets fed up with the bullshit and leaves. Claiming to have an American customer service team is now a competitive advantage.

There should be some kind of legislation that taxes companies that send jobs overseas and exempts them from receiving ANY tax breaks. You want to do business here you have to hire people here.
