Scientology; More from John Sweeney

How many people are oppressed and dying in islams name? You cannot pretend those are all not muslims. It is not that easy to let a religion/cult off the hook. There are calls for death just over leaving the religion, it is called apostacy, and so many still believe that this is valid. 36% of young muslims IN THE UK believe that apostates should be killed. Even scientology doesn't go that far. So who is worse by this simple judgement alone, never mind the rest of the evils.

Just look at how many people died just over a cartoon. But since this cult is bigger, we have to shut our minRAB off and pretend we are not allowed to judge.

Sure there will always be those that can't be bothered to go that far but will support their parents religion anyways. That is how these things work, and spread. I believe there was a recent study that showed atheists known more about religion than many religious folk do. But the fact is that the bulk of this only semi serious religious population is what makes it safe for the extremists to exist. And to be frank in islam the moderates are only a half step from "the fringe", so it is so much worse. In any aspect whether it is views about women, homosexuals, apostasy, 9/11 7/7 conspiracies, antisemitism, the views of the fringe are not that far from the majority.

From the express

I guess this was to be expected. So cue the "Church" whipping up a storm of public criticism (or mud-slinging) against Sweeney and the BBC later this week. I wonder if the Church of Scientology can find a court prepared to listen to their drivel.

Channel 7 Australia did their own interview with Mike Rinder, in which he admits that part of Tommy Davis's plan was to wind John Sweeney up and push him into "losing it" on camera.

Part 1
Part 2

It appears that the Church of Scientology also flew a cameraman out from the USA to Australia to track/stalk Mike Rinder and the TV crew, in the same way they stalked John Sweeney and the Panarama crew.

There's something decidely screwed up about a religion that denies publically one of its key tenets of belief because it's so mental.

Scientologists take religous horse shit to a new level.

Couldnt believe it earlier when I was watching the Nat Geo channel on Sky up popped an advert for this nasty cult.
How on earth can they be allowed to advertise on TV?

It's all a bit of a wierd 'religion'.

It's not surprising that celebs are all part of it though. Just watching the first few minutes of this programme and the claim that they 'eradicate harmful subconscious thoughts'.

Linking this to Scientologists Cruise and Travolta, perhaps they are fighting some of these 'harmful subconscious thoughts'. ;)

I don't have to, it is a wide-spread belief, and the idea alone that it is a religion where the threat of death even exists is odious enough. What is certain is people have died over things as simple as cartoons with this religion. Do tell me how many people scientologists have murdered. I'm just saying scientologists are an easy target. If the media were applying their scruitiny proportionally they would have to look else where. But they won't, because they are fearful.

Watching that programme it didn't seem much like a religion or a cult to me. It's more like one of those self-help scams where people keep being told that if they pay another

 I'm shocked by Nancy Cartwright :(
Watching some of the programme scientology didnt seem like a religion to me, more like a cult, or a scam actually. Just a con created to make money :(
That Lord Zanu (?) looked a bit like Ming The Merciless :p

The difference is that Islam doesn't TELL its people to kill, blow up or behead people. It's extermists using the teachings of the Prophet Mohammed to justify their behaviour. Nothing in the Koran says that when you become born into or converted to Islam you HAVE to fight the West, or unbelievers. Only the radical elements pursue that course. There are millions of peace-loving Muslims who are as shocked as any of us about the violence perpetrated in their religion's name.

Don't forget, the Crusades featured awful massacres, and were ENDORSED by the Pope. Should we then assume all Christians are evil??

Get a grip, for the love of god!
It's this kind of black-and-white thinking that does more to further the demonising of Islam and the violence and hatred against Muslims than just about anything.

And no, as you ask, I'm not. I'm an atheist (thank God!)....

By claiming that they've monitored every word and by following the reporter around filming him, the idiots have given the show a plausibility that the reporter could only have dreamt of. Silly Scientology.
