Scariest films

Event Horizon is quite good. If space travel was available in our lifetimes who would use it with this film and the alien ones?

I can remember the last time I've been scared after watching a film. I can remember lots that have made me jump (only when watched at the cinema though)

I really like films that make me jump a lot but I don't see many.

I don't no about the scariest film but one old fav has to be JAWS a classic with perfect timing.

beside that I have to go with Skysurfer2000 and the ORIGINAL "Haunting" a classic B&W film. and the best thing is that you don't actually see anything But Turn out the lights in the room and turn up the sound for a fantastic original frightnight.

This is an interesting topic because it strongly revolves around the first truely scary movie you ever saw. Usually at a younger age. Movies just arn't as scary to me anymore (at 27).

For me, it was Alien. A friend and I rented it when we were younger. I can't even think of what age we must have been. Maybe 11? Yes, our parents let us watch us and I turned out halfway normal!

That movie scared the poop out of me ;)

A film called Phantasm which had a number of worrying scenes, even at 18 years old

Mind you seeing the Towering Inferno when I was twelve in the cinema was also upsetting. Shouldnt have snuck in

I MUCH prefer psychological suspense and that hair standing up on the back of your neck creepy feeling than slasher-jump-out-your-skin-blood-n-gore type horror

Stephen Kings books scare the living cr*p out of me but his films dont have the same effect  except i couldnt even bring myselt to watch IT as I have a clown phobia going on

Se7en stayed in my mind for a long time after I saw it, though was more disturbing than scary and is one of my favourite films.

Some of hte imagery in Artificial Intelligence was very haunting especaill the Flesh Fair scene *shudders*

Poltergeist and the Exorcist have got to rate as the most creepy films of all time which maybe proves that the old ones are the best ad perhaps they dont make em like that anymore?

Ooh and Scream is one of hte only recent films to still gice me nightmares:eek:

I watched Roadkill this week and thought there was something genuinely scary about it. Dunno I suppose the fact that you could tick off a truck driver who then starts to stalk you and harass isn't so far fetched! I won't be giving any truckers grief after watching this one!

Yeh the concept is more or less and update of the formula used in DUEL.

Roadkill is just as good as DUEL plenty of nail biting tension and suspense.

You should also check out Frailty cos that is a movie and a half!

When I watched Breakdown in the cinema I was on the edge of my seat, it was one of the only films to ever genuinely scare me.
Horror films like Halloween, Friday The 13th, Scream & the like are just too set up, my favourite of the teen horrors is I Know What You Did Last Summer, it wasn't scary as such just good entertainment.
I saw the dutch version of The Vanishing on Film Four and the ending was horrifying, it was a psychological thriller like the Sixth Sense was, those get you more.

yeah candyman, omg i saw that wheni wa slike 9 or so & it scare dthe hell out of me, i could'nt sleep, i wa sjust think waaaaaaaaaah he's under my bed lol, i i couldn'y look in amirroe for a day or 2, quite the same way lol
