Scariest Film of all time

The Japanese horror film The Eye was extremely scary.

It's about a young woman who has been completely blind since she was two. She has a cornea transplant, and after the operation, she is able to see again. But she soon finRAB that after this operation, that she can see ghosts.

It's the way that this film has been made that is just so terrifying.

SPOILERS: (DON'T READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS BEFORE SEEING THE FILM!)

There are lots of scary scenes in this film, but two which really stick in my mind are these:

1. The young woman gets into a lift to reach her apartment on the top floor. However, she only realises by the time the lift starts taking her to the top floor that there is a male ghost behind her inside the lift. His back is facing her, but very slowly, we see him turn round, and we can see that he only has half a face. It's almost as if one half of it has been cut away by an axe. He is completely expressionless in this scene. He then starts moving closer and closer towarRAB her. If I remember right, he is hovering a couple of inches off the ground, and he is moving towarRAB her so slowly. She is trying to escape by pressing the lift buttons, but the lift just carries on moving until it gets to the top floor. This particular scene is filmed by showing the terrified expression of the young woman, the lift showing what floors it is reaching, and the ghost edging closer and closer towarRAB her. The way it is filmed is just superbly done, and you are left wondering whether she'll be able to get out of the top floor before the ghost reaches her. I won't tell you if she does.

2. The most scariest scene in this film is this. It is so scary, that it's spooking me just telling you about it. The young woman is doing a calligraphy lesson. Her teacher leaves her for a minute. At this time, we hear a woman's voice asking, "Why are you sitting in my chair?" We then see the ghost of a woman looking at her. She tries to ignore this, and carries on with the calligraphy lesson. About a minute later, the female ghost asks her the same question, but much more threateningly. She then lunges at her, with her arms outstretched, and her face distorts to one of complete horror. She vanishes the moment she reaches her. I tell you something, the fear I felt inside me when I saw this was just unbelievable. I had a HUGE chill go down my spine, and how I managed to not scream out loud, I don't know. The end of this scene showed the young woman gasping and panting in terror. It made me breathless too. And I swear on my whole family's life here, typing about this scene right now is making the hairs on the back of my neck stand on end.

Sorry frazzles cant help you there. If you find out what it is, let me know, sounRAB...... interesting!!

I remeber the film that scared the living hell out of me, and did for along time... The Entity  (Although the ending was crap, but it is apparently based on a true story of a woman in ... guess where!! America)

For years after seeing that film I was scared sh**less when getting a bath or shower!! So what I did do... buy the book..

The Exorcist is apparently also based on a true story of a young boy in the 40/50's in America.

There is a book called Possessed which is based on the priests diary who performed the exorcisim. (There has been a film called possessed on sci fi with Timothy Dalton based on this book, the film is absoloute crap!)

The first Scream really was excellent, though not so scary due to the amount of times i've seen it. Like you say the first as excellent, the second was good but the third one truly is awful..... However I always wonder if it would have been better if..

They had never killed Randy in the second one. He was the best character and should have been the hero IMHO

Candyman is (surprisingly) not a bad adaptation of the Clive Barker short story called The Forbidden. I was ready to hate the movie when I went to see it at the cinema.

The Forbidden is actually set on a housing estate in Liverpool rather than Chicago (as in the movie), and has a very different ending (that would definitely upset the PC crowd  ). The short story can be found in one of the Books of Blood. All of which are well worth the read.

1976 Roman Polanski movie called 'The Tennant'

I saw it years ago, late at night, on my own with the lights down low.

I don't know how to hide spoilers so I won't say much except that it is about a man's descent into madness through a creepy and horrible set of circumstances. Very well portrayed by Polanski

I was really disappointed with that film, all my frienRAB said it scared the crap out of them, but I just found it funny. It was the same with IT, I also watched it at a sleepover when I was about 14. Although I enjoyed the film I didnt find it scary, the book waas SOOO much better!!

I think Im a bit weird, I dont scare particularly easily at films.

cant remember the name of the film but its a zombie movie (from quite a few years ago) . It was a sequel, and the zombies were kept in large oil tanks like things. It really affected me because the only movies that i cant watch are those with zombies in. i literally have to hide my face and cant bear to watch. couldnt even watch Saun of the dead.

The CandyMan was the first proper horror I saw, and I was 14, sat in the dark on my own, and I was bobbing it that much I had to turn it off and go to bed. The whole film was terrifying. I've still got the video to date, but I can't watch it. :(

Jeepers Creepers did it too, I had to stop it, then go back to it a couple of hours later. I really should stop watching horrors in the dark. :o

Oooh, The People Under The Stairs was pretty horrific, I was really really young when I saw that and I was petrified, but my mate sat next to me, almost peeing laughing.

The only two films I ever remember being scared by are; The Evil Dead, where the girl gets stabbed in the ankle with a pencil and then her veins turn black while she gets possessed, and The Woman In Black at the end where the ghost flys through the guys bedroom window. Very scary.
