SAT practice rates question?

Michael mows laws for his summer job. He only averages 3 lawns a week for the first 8 weeks, but then averages 6 lawns a week for the last 4 weeks. What is the average number of lawns he mowed per week during the entire summer?

The answer is 5, but I don't understand the steps to reach that.

Thanks

number of lawns mowed in first 8 weeks = 8*3 = 24

number of lawns mowed in last 4 weeks = 6*4 = 24

total number of lawns mowed in 12 weeks = 48

Average number of lawns mowed per week = 48/12 = 4

it can't be 5

are you sure the answer is 5? when you add up the number of lawns and divide it by the number of weeks in summer you get 48/12 which is 4. check your answer key. otherwise, i have no idea how they got 5
