Sanity Check Please - Sprint Razr V3M to Cricket

SAD

Hey - awesome site! great info! :buddies:

Just wanted to do a sanity check befrore I pulled the trigger and flashed my Sprint Razr V3M to Cricket.

From the searches and how to guides on this site I have come up with the following:

Got PST 7.25 installed and it picks up my Razr V3M.
Have the Cricket V3c_09.02.00R MONSTER file ready to go. (hupma.com) I know I'll lose trans flash and MP3 player but that's OK...

1. Go to Cricket store w/ESN of my phone and setup service.
2. Flash the phone with the Cricket Monster file.
3. After phone reboots - #073887* and enter Code 000000. Go to user activation and NAM1. Under MIN and MDN enter my phone nuraber. Then let phone reboot.
4. Call Cricket (*228) to activate phone.

Am I missing anything here LOL
I know this is a pretty simple process but just want to make sure :)

Thanks!

ive tried this, it wont take, it says flash failed no matter what I try to flash it to. cant even flash to sprint. no matter what monster I use it says flash failed

If I am not mistaken you won't need to do *228 as it will likely not OTA. When you are in your NAM settings you are manually programming the phone over-the-air activation might not be available but the first 3 steps SHOULD be all you need to do. Can anyone confirm?

Sell it to me then.

When does it say flashed failed? During the flash, or before, in middle, what?

You should change your bootloader, or use Motorola repair studio, and use the repair function.

Didn't read the first post, but make sure the phone is unlocked.

Just try one of the above. Sell it to me though if all else fails.

You can do it like this, or you can do it with the Alltel V3M Monster and then install the right settings to get WAP and MMS to work... that way you keep your TF and MP3 Playback.

Just becareful with cricket, don't volunteer info... that seems to get some of us in trouble with getting services to work right. If they ask what kinda phone it is, all they need to know is you bought this phone in a cricket store, its a MotoRAZR V3C. Not an M since cricket doesn't have one.

Also, if its done right, *228 WILL work fine! Sometimes if you happen to do it again... it might fail.... But it ususaly only fails if there is no change from the sever settings to the phone settings, if you change something on the phone, like a diff prl that should not be used... and do a *228, it will program the phone and change it back to the original settings.

i got the demo version of it, but it still does not seem to work. the v3m is connected, when i click repair it goes thru, says erase or delete fail then cannot restart it. my sprint v3m turns on and goes to hellomoto screen then freezes. am i screwed? i can get to bootloader screen easily

Hey thanks for the help. Unfortunately when I tried to flash it it only got about 50% done and failed.
I reboooted the phone and windows now sees it as a V3C. I install drivers for the V3C.
Multi flash sees it as a V3c now and shows connected.
I tried to flash again . Status changes to "checking phone" for about 60 sec. Then phone POWERS OFF and Multi flash status changes to "Flash Aborted - The phone is not properly connected/activated.

Any thought on what my next steps should be???

I have uninstalled PST and Moto drivers and reinstalled.

Thanks!!!

this is just me but i would of not done that i would of just used the Alltel V3m flash and not the cricket v3c cause its like 2 differnt things and in my view what you just did should of not happen cause the flasher should of stopped you. but i guess it didnt, and i think you just killed your phone. Anyhow try this, press * + # holding it press the power and it should kick you in Bootloader mode. make sure you have the Alltel V3m flash and put that on your phone, and just do what the Alltel V3m to cricket says to do and you should be fine.

and uninstalling and reinstalling is not going to help at all. and this is just my view based on what i have done and seen. I hope this helps if not feel free to PM me and we can see what we can do

Awesome! that did it! I was able to load the Cricket monster :) Everything looks OK so far in the phone GUI. Will get my service setup and post an update. Thanks again!!!!!! :buddies:

Yeah, there is no problem with using the Cricket V3C Monster...

I'm now wishing there was a way to figure out how to get the SD Card working with it... cause I'm liking the Cricket Monster soo much better then the hacked up Alltel V3M Monster setup for cricket... cause I haven't been able to get mms and wap working on the Alltel Monster.

i been following these threaRAB reading and i can confirm i got my sprint v3m to work with the alltel monster even the wap and mms work perfect.

but is there a easy way to skin the alltel startup splash? bad enough my phone says sprint on the battery cover.

weird thing thought that happened was i dont really know if i got it right on the ESN #, in the phone after alltel monster was flashed i checked ESN# and it matched the HEX on back of phone under the battery. because i thought it was the HEX but it wasnt it was the DEC one on the back under battery, it wouldnt go thru at cricket.... just a heaRAB up for the sprint users migrating.

keep trying to flash it. i get this all the time. as it's been said try to flash to vzw first, then to altel.

i had a k1m that i had to re-flash about 5 times yesterday until i got it to work.

ive tried like 10-15 times to no avail, i can always get bootloader but it goes to 67% of flash then fails, ive tried rsd general, multiflashflex and pstlite and it does same on all them

A little confused on the ESN thing...

As for the Alltel loading screen.. Yes there is. But you'll need the Cricket screen. Which I have. Just look in the Motorola Modding section for a post about this by me.
