safe sex and abstinence-why not educate teens on everything?

Why isn't there a school program for safe sex that explains how one gets pregnant and how to avoid getting pregnant and dispels common fallacies such as pulling out or first time as being safe? Preaching abstinence obviously does no good, but giving people condoms and not explaining what a condom does isn't great either. All these questions like "we had unprotected sex could i be pregnant" or "i'm on the pill for a week could i be pregnant" really depress me.

I think my school should hand out condoms

Disturbing sight : seeing people having sex in the bathroom ! At least with condoms you will know they are safe.
