Rock 'n' Chips - Only Fools and Horses Prequel

I have been thinking, It looks like Freddy The Frog will be the main focus of this show, now ... In The Frogs Legacy, Delboy had no idea who Freddy the Frog was, but in this special Delboy is 16, so surley Delboy would have remembered?

That is true of Del's opinion of his mum in OFAH, she was a saint in his eyes but everyone else knew different. Nice to see Del deludes himself on that matter. As for this show I loved it and want to see more. Great acting. The only one thing I was disappointed with is there was no Uncle Albert.

But then you have to remember that grandad WAS middle aged back in 1960! In fact he would have been around the same age in 1960 that Phil Daniels is now!

Green Green Grass was a sideways departure, far more based on the tradition of Are You Being Served and Hi De Hi, than any reference to OFAH. I cant imagine this will be anything like that. If they can get the casting right(and they havent made a bad start), I can see this making a real impact.

I know after this, people are going to be so peed off - "the characters look/ sound nothing like they did" etc. i am looking forward however.

Out of interest is filming location of The Ritz cinema really The Gilegud Theatre were Avenue Q is showing? Looks like it to me...

I am impressed with the prequel though thought it took a while for the JS humour to spread in...46 min and 20 sec...:D

More than this though there were quite a lot of rather un-PC jokes... Can't think of any offhand but it's definitely quite shocking to watch some of the older episodes.

This is an interesting idea. It's been rumoured for years. I hope it works out well.

I'm a bit surprised it's going to be a 90-minute one-off. I thought it might be a full series.

Someone mentioned First of the Summer Wine, and while it was nowhere near as good as its parent show, it was watchable. The target for Shazam will be to make this OFAH prequel more than watchable.

I think Del always knew who Freddy The Frog was and that he was Rodneys actual father.

In Sleepless In Peckham Del compares FTF and Rodney to Rodney saying that he was a cheat, a womaniser etc. Now if he did not know who FTF was then he could not have made that comparison

Also in that episode when he see's the 1960's picture with FTF in his reaction was "bloody hell". That reaction was not because he had just realised who FTF was but that Rodney would realise it was his actual father.

Oh. Great.

(Sarcasm mode off.)

Why do we need a prequel? Annoyingly, all the people will tune in because "Oh look, it's Del and Rodney, dear!" and the viewers will soon disappear. That's what I predict anyway.
