Rev (BBC2 Comedy Series) - Mondays - 10:00PM

I really like it, as does my wife. Its well performed, funny, and almost refreshingly understated, not seeking to make any judgemental calls about religion but simply finding humour in the role of a vicar.

I'm sure its been mentioned before but it has echoes of Derek Nimmo, especially this week with the strippers but far more maturely handled. I couldn't help thinking that "Rev" was going to end up terribly embarrassed in some '70s fashion.

Watched it last night and thought it was poor.

It also had a glaringly obvious continuity error (I never usually spot these things!)

The final scene when there sitting out on the bench the bloke hands the vicar his beer which he takes in his left hand, only to magically appear in his right when seen from another angle!

Ouch, cringe moment. Have just remembered the brilliant bit where Nigel joins Adam dancing.

Just painfully brilliant.

Olivia Coleman plays Adam's wife. She's brilliant in everything she's been in. Does a lot of stuff with Mitchell and Webb; Peep Show/ That Mitchell and Webb Look.

I agree - she's great (especially in Peep Show), but let's try to forget her "Kev/Bev/Bev/Kev" car insurance adverts from a few years ago.

Love it, some of the Jokes are very apt, as a vicars daughter, I reconise so much, Just had pcc and was all about our deanery share.

My mum and dad think its spot on too and very funny

Excellent ending to the series. Funny, sad, tragic and moving.

Loved the trick with the remote control. I wonder how many takes it took?

To be honest, I didn't know whether to laugh or be offended.
I've only just seen the episode with the charismatic group come in.. and although yes, I totally loved what the Rev had to say about not excluding people, and the main guy trying to take over the Church was a pain in the neck, I just kinda felt they were mocking the idea of Praise & Worship.. The Church can be for everyone, incl. the alcoholic, but also including the people who want to worship God in that way. Having said that, the annoying guy was a bully and was probably more likely to be the Devil in disguise.

I'm also a Catholic so find it very difficult to see a Minister as a married man - even though I am fairly liberal and definitely in support of Priests getting married.. lol. My mind just doesn't know what to think when the Reverend is talking about his sex life... I almost don't want to look.

Maybe I should give it another go though.. I'm all for poking fun at the idiosyncrasies of the Church, but sometimes it crossed the line for me I felt...
