Agreed. Linus' scene works like a charm since it's just so natural and in-character for him. Linus always cited Bible quotes in the strip, so this is possibly the most natural religious message in a not explicitly religious special.
A Garfield Christmas also has Doc Boy saying grace, and has "It Came Upon the Midnight Clear", a freaking hymn, playing in the background in one scene. Other media, like The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, have religious overtones, but even though it centers around a Christmas play it doesn't shove its messages down the reader's throat.
Also agreed.Chowder is in its own world, so there's nothing wrong with "Knishmas". It almost makes more sense that way.
