I imagine that would be "serve immediately". :)

Correct me if I am mistaken, but can lava cakes not be made with real
ingredients instead of cake mix, and a bunch of other processed foods?

How about that, I get it in email from my buddy's wife last night and made it
today. Do I confront her or let it go, she could of gotten it from someone
else. Nothing better to do eh Mark?

I occasionally get flyers and other unwanted mail with recipes made up
of various processed foods...... a can of a certain manufacturer's soup,
a package of their grated cheese mixture, a box of their crckers
smashed up. Basically, they are recipes to sell their products. Beats
me why someone would post something like that.

Maybe they don't have a sense of really good food? I admit I
sometimes use processed foods, but less and less these years, to the
point where it is almost nil now. I like knowing what is in my food,
and I just think the taste is better.

You know, Dave and Chris... there are people who do bake and have
decided that they prefer starting with a boxed mix. I made a cake
last weekend that my SIL makes for all of her parties and she
entertains a lot. It requires roasting oranges, but she doesn't
bother with making the cake part from scratch because she thinks the
box is just as good and it's way less work. She has plenty of other
things to do for her parties so she's not vested in making a cake from
scratch too. She doesn't make gravlax either. She buys lox from
CostCo and puts it out. Guess what? People adore her food and her
parties.

Why does a cake like that need to be made from scratch? I can think
of lots of things I'd make from scratch, but a chocolate cake filled
with ice cream is not one of them.

Chester's stolen recipe isn't for a lava cake. A lava cake is one which is
cooked in individual servings, which is served with the outer shell fully
cooked but the inside still liquid. Chester's stolen recipe is for a kind of
chocolate-cherry cake sundae.
