I think it's more like "serve immediately" to a birthday party of 12

That was my line of thought too, but it wasn't worth the trouble. I
picked my battle and it was: using a cake mix isn't the end of the
world.

That's why this recipe was called Volcano cake, I had mentioned about having
lava cake on the last cruise we were on, perhaps it wasn't noticed or taken out
of context. I did not call this cake lava cake, completely two different cakes.
BTW, the recipe my friend forwarded to me was sent to her, so I had no need to
research it like so many here felt the need to. She told me that if she had
realized it came from a site and not from her friend that she wouldn't of sent
it to me. I made it for a birthday party, and thought it would be nice to post
here, I'll not make that mistake again.

aunt's sister, but the fact that the sister got it from Joy of Cooking
got lost along the way.

I made a cake
last weekend that my SIL makes for all of her parties and she
entertains a lot. It requires roasting oranges, but she doesn't
bother with making the cake part from scratch because she thinks the
box is just as good and it's way less work. She has plenty of other
things to do for her parties so she's not vested in making a cake from
scratch too. She doesn't make gravlax either.a can of a certain
manufacturer's soup,
a package of their grated cheese mixture, a box of their crckers
smashed up. Basically,
