(REC)/Quarantine

[REC] is a great horror film.

This US remake is going to be crap, you can just tell. The trailer for Quarantine can be found here -

A word of warning though: if you haven't seen the original, don't watch the trailer. It gives away the ending right at the end of the trailer! (and i imagine the end of Quarantine too if it's believed to be a shot-for-shot remake.)

I mean seriously, whose bright idea was that? It's just stupid!

There's only one upcoming horror film i'm looking forward to and that's The Strangers. The 1st time i saw the trailer it gave me chills! One of the freakiest trailers i've ever seen to do that.

Yes, there is a short out-take in the extras that features Angela walking down the corridor of nails. As for the cupboard full of dead children, I don't know anything about that. Unless it's an easter egg I've not found yet.

Anyway, I didn't like Rec either. Shaky cameras truly suck.

But the acting was marginally better than Quarantine.

I've not seen it and as far as i'm aware it's not a remake.

I think it's possible it may be inspired by the French movie but the trailer for The Strangers states it's based on true events. I'm not bothered. The trailer gave me chills and that's enough for me to go see it!

I watched "Qurarantine" this afternoon and really enjoyed it. Definitely 28 Days/Weeks Later crossed with Blair Witch. I liked it though. Havent seen [REC] but would be interested to see that too.
Is it Spanish or Japanese the original?

[REC] is Spanish. It has less gore than Quarantine but feels more like a live recording, imo.

Oh it's definitely inspired by Them/Ils. It's out on region 1 dvd soon, so will get it and see it then sell it on if I don't like it.

Watched it on Sky Horror last night, was very good, but didn't scare me that much. Although I did jump out of my skin when Pablo was looking around the attic & found the girl.

Also, I see Angela (?) has been signed up for the sequel0 could she just be a zombie?

imo i prefer the look of quarintine i think not because of the film but just because its spoken in english with no subtitles although it didnt bother me on the orphanage

Went to see Quarantine last night and really enjoyed it. Jennifer Carpenter was great in it.

Might have to add [REC] to my Christmas list.

There were some subtle changes in the second half of the film but it's basically a remake

I prefer the Spanish version as the leading lady was gorgeous.....

I really enjoyed Rec. The whole fast paced randomness of it and the surprise attacks from undead types was just grand.
