Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

Just watch the eppy and its the...

RETURN OF THE KING!

or as the title puts it: the day the fiend wakens

Correction:

V.V. is a guy (it was confirmed back in season 1 by other fan forums)

about the eppy:

Lelouch did not accept the position the elevens are in now. What he was trying to say was that the Japanese should not rebellion when they didn't have the power to fight. He also showed he didn't like zero because he fail to have the power to free the Japanese. He seemed to lament not having the power to do something about the injustice he saw all around him; its just in his nature.

Unlike Light from death note who was just on a power trip, Lelouch really cares about the less fortunate and yearns for the power to do something. Light was content with his life before he got the death note. Lelouch on the other hand always lamented not having the power to control his life and the power to right the wrongs he saw all around him.

ALL HAIL ZERO! I love how his Black Knights stay loyal to him and still look up to him while the holy sworRAB seem to have their doubts. I'm glad the female holy sword survived, I like her attitude. I was so sad when that generic blue hair black knight girl died. I liked her but this season we get a generic brunette black knight girl. I'll miss the blue hair.

note:

on April 26 (late night, I think 1:00 or 1:30) on adult swim:

The Rebellion comes to America (code geass season one premieres)

It not so much sucks but this episode definitely shot in the head the idea that Code Geass has a serious plot. Like I've said, don't take this show serious because it sure doesn't take itself seriously. At this rate the show is going to win the award for one of the most convoluted endings ever.

^^And I deeply hate him so for that

Hey guys, remeraber that time I posted that video in the Shippuden thread that crossed over Pokemon and the second opening "distance"

Well....you know what here just look

O2-Hitman Reborn! style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkAcDnR8qaA

World's End-Hitman Reborn! style:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZjsJ5MLb9KU

If you are a Reborn! fan, I hope you have seen up to the third arc before seeing this...you know what, just watch them anyway just because they look awesome.

I feel an epilogue coming on.

"And so, 30 years passed......"

Suzaku: I understand. The sacrifice you made can't be risked now, is that it?
Lelouch: Yes. I can't ignore this crisis. At the same time Zero must continue to oversee the world's peace, even if that means risking revealing myself as I have to you. Let me do what I can from the shadows while you lead the people. You have only one life. But I...Lelouch Britannia was killed by Zero, but perhaps Lelouch Lamperouge can do something.
C.C. Lelouch, we've been withdrawn from the world for a generation. Do you understand how much the world can change in that time?
Lelouch: Are tyrants still small-minded, power-obsessed to the point of fear, and arrogant?
Suzaku: Yup.
Lelouch: That's good enough for me.

Heh.

Brownie points if you see the Justice League reference.

I was just reading that over and pondering it. I had no idea though I can believe it; I would have seen 23 as a good season 1 ending personally. Kallen's father and Cecile's relationship with Suzaku sound pretty interesting, though I can do without the idea to connect Suzaku to Geass somehow. Though I guess if you have that happening to him and no Rolo, it balances out. I didn't know the time change would be so bad, although I don't get the reason for having to change...devout fans would just follow the show over to the new time slot, no? You don't see this time change affecting Gundam 00's plans, as far as I know. I guess some appreciation is due for them greenlighting turn 24 and 25 so Taniguchi could end season 1 like he wanted, though like I said I would've been totally happy if 23 had ended it. 24 and 25 would've made an amazing R2 opener, even though Taniguchi would've hated it.

As far as episode spoilers go...

Man, for a minute I thought that Anya was literally Marieanne. That really would've had me facepalming. Instead she's just harboring her personality, or something...weird. Does this mean she's not in C.C., or are there parts of her in both, or what? Ah well, maybe the episode will make this more clear.

I'm more or less in the same boat, but still...if I could travel back in time, I'd ask...no, beg, bribe or threaten Sunrise and Taniguchi to either keep the show in its original time slot or to somehow keep the story simple instead of adding more than what they can handle. That kills the pacing, which is not worth it even if it does also have its benefits.

My personal enjoyment of the series is fine, but other than that...a step in the right direction would be to wrap up the final battle in 23-24 and use all of 25 for closure, period.

I hope that's the case, because I'd hate not being able to re-watch this series if the ending (the last 22 minutes) didn't at least make up for some of its failings. Not everything, or even most, but enough.

Oh, I like some tracks from R2 as well. I like "Deeply Fast" (really liked the sad solo violin they put in there that makes this battle theme quite different), "If I Were a Bird" (because it fit the fairy-tale atmosphere quite well), "Concealment" (which is really a leftover from R1 but I'm not complaining), "Guren" (because of its Gurren Lagann-level of awesomeness, which may or may not be a coincedence), and "Showdown" (because I just like it ). It's just that they didn't seem to be trying with this one, there seemed to be more duRAB than "hits" overall.

Then again, Iwasaki and Kanno have spoiled me rotten over the years so maybe I'm holding everybody else to too high of a standard. I also love piano-driven score tracks (which is something Iwasaki in particular excels at) and Geass is strings-driven from the first track of R1's OST to the finale of R2's 2nd OST so again, my personal taste might be coming into play here.

Oh. Well, thanks anyway.

Maybe it is a sister or cousin of one of them. LOL

For you all that think Ougi and Vitella is such a crazy obsert romance, you all probably never heard of Luke and Laura from General Hospital.

And constant posting of Lelouch Fonz as he's about to jump the shark.

That said a very interesting analysis in regarRAB to Turn 18. Like Sam, I wouldn't mind that being the explanation, probably given my Sayoko in some very intricate 5 to 10 minute arc detailing the intricacies of the close call.

Okay, the anime community can officialy start calling this guy "Butt Monkey"

It's like the companies want to put him in roles we will all laugh at him at.

Usually, I'm not the one to say this, but if that happens, I will officially say Code Geass makes absolutely no sense.

...As a tradeoff, I will think its the greatest anime ever if it does do that.

Fair enough. I'll concede to that. It's been a while anyway since I last watched Geass.

Now to find a magical go back in time button to stop this gaffe from ever happening. I think the Jericho 941 Double Action in my dad's drawer will prove ideally useful. Now, if you'll excuse me....

I noticed that too. Might be an issue with the photos but more likely than not another case of Bandai ignoring source materials for product colours (see Tallgeese having a black trim on its shield for over a decade, God Gundam kits suddenly having green sabers, etc)

Yeah, what GWO said. Anya was taking some kind of lessons at the house hold and happened to bear witness to Marianne's death by V.V. She was just a normal innocent child. Marianne used her geass at the last minute and transfered herself [for last of better phrasing] into Anya's body in order to keep herself alive. Nunally was simply blinded by Charles to make sure that she was never able to discover the truth about the situation, etc.etc. She is still Lelouch's sister and Anya has no connection to the family except for the fact that Marianne hid out inside of her for a long time.
