Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

Once again, I'm going to wait. I'm going to wait until I see this in motion before I wonder if it is crap at all. I'm not going to have a visceral reaction, I'm not going to call foul on the series just yet, I am going to wait. I am going to wait and I'm going to see this episode through before I start saying things like "Worst Series Ever."

Then I'm probably posting a full review of the Second Season which will get done once I've watched Episode 25.
 
Nope, I did not say you are a racist. I say you don't want racism talked about on tv. And I believe I am accurate in my accessment that you classify the "race card" as a taboo subject that should not be used on TV for some strange reason.

What IS the "Race Card"? You are the one to bring it up, so I would like you to elaborate on what you mean. If you mean anything other than how racism is banned from discussion, I would like to know.
 
Not really, I was referring when they were originally casting for R1.

I don't think Rebecca Forstadt preformance is as bad as you guys, but still much to be desired.

Speaking of which, if you want to get an idea on how Kari Wahlgren would do as Nunnally. She plays almost the exact same type of character Relena on the english dub of Digimon Savers (Digimon Data Squad). Especially the next episode that airs this Saturday, I except a great preformance from her.
 
For a bit of trivia...it has been suggested that this is more of a Gun X Sword rip-off than an Evangelion one, appropriately so since Taniguchi himself directed that show, though the result is largely the same since the basic idea does go all the way back to the source (Eva) regardless.



That's more than fair enough, I'd think.

I also agree that it's a good thing this didn't just end with Lelouch becoming Emperor.

That would be a nice ending for a season, as it has been in a certain other show, but a poor ending for the show as a whole.

Suzaku was never a true idealist.

The only reason he claimed he wanted to change from within was because he didn't expect to live very long. Everything he said before Euphemia's death was lies. Joining Lulu would mean actually TRYING to change things, but he can't have that. Dropping dead is much easier.

Getting Geassed into living completely messed up Suzaku's plans. And after Euphie's death, Suzaku got completely confused as to what he is fighting for. He ended up on a revenge trip against Zero, because he can't willingly get himself killed anymore and there is nothing else to do.

To claim Suzaku was an idealist or a moron was to completely miss the point; he wasn't an idiot, just a heartless bastard.

That's why Suzaku will never join Zero. He does not care for helping anyone but himself.
 
Well-made points, especially on the dual reality that Lelouch has to play and all that. Thankfully it looks like we'll be seeing his reaction to his incompatibility play into full force as the episodes move on.

Perhaps it was a good way in the end to heavily counter the rather trying Ashford episodes, in which everyone lives in a bubble. Now that the bubble is popped so to speak, no one will ever be the same. Yes, even all the nameless Ashford students.
 
o_O...He never said she lives. He's saying that he knew from small hints in the opening that Nunally had a high chance of dyeing in a borab while others thought that her throwing the crane was instead a sign of hope.

And we all know how that turned out ;_;.

I liked the 1st season's music (as "insensitive" as it felt sometimes), it is just that R2's music just doesn't feel right to me. I liked the Western-fairy-tale-on-steroiRAB atmosphere that they were trying to provide in the 1st season but they backed off from that a bit in R2. Everything just feels like it decreased in scale and got mechanized. Then again, I'm a diehard Taku Iwasaki fanboy (who even managed to make Gurren Lagann sad in places) so maybe that might be a factor.

I woildn't mind reading your post on the subject, by the way.
 
That makes more sense than this shows plot...(that's not to say Code Geass isn't entertaining- just ridiculous.)

It seems too easy. What if now Schneizel has to stop Lelouch from damning the world instead of Lelouch originally stopping him? I'm glad him and Suzaku teamed up, I'd been waiting for it actually, but it feels too quick- like something is definitly missing from the equation. I don't want this to suddenly turn into 'Lelouch the tyrannical emperor' and his league of geassed mind slaves. I should probably wait till I SEE the entire episode before making judgments but I can't help but feel anxious over it. Although I did find that Charles deciding to blind Nunally very, very nasty of him. I hadn't even thought of her blindness being an intentional thing.

But it allows him to get what's coming to him. Maybe it's just me but I'm looking forward to seeing the Black Knights and Britannia each self-destructing, especially its leaders and followers as they're forced to do evil, undesirable, things and deserve it.

Then when the dust settles only Lloyd and Milly will be the true survivors and will be King and Queen of the world.
