Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

You know, I can agree with that. The question is whether Code Geass R2 would still deserve to be called the best of the year...instead of just merely the favorite of the year, to use what could be a more appropiate term.

I'm definitely leaning towarRAB no. Being the best generally requires a certain level of quality and there are a nuraber of other candidates that could stand up to scrutiny a lot easier.

Though I didn't watch that many new shows during the year, which complicates things a bit for me. For instance...Gundam 00 Second Season isn't over yet, but so far it is a much better series than much of its first season and the whole R2, clearly, even if it's not completely free from certain concerns and nitpicks of its own. Same thing goes for Bounen no Xamdou, probably the best ongoing show very few people are talking about (and no, I'm not talking about it either, unfortunately, since I'm a little behind), or even Casshern Sins, because of how it makes an ostensibly episodic plot work with plenty of style and enough substance. There are other valid options, yes, but you get the idea.

I'd like to see how all those end, mind you, before choosing my actual top pick, even if they are all technically wrapping up in 2009.

True, I sure will all agree with this on one level or another however I find that it was much better done in Code Geass then in EVA. EVA's ending hardly made any sense when you first watch but, perhaps because we have seen this type of plot before, its much easier to understand what Charles was trying to do.

Took a screenie.

I don't see anything up with his arms either, but there's very definitely something on the left side of his face (our right). It's easier to see when it's in motion.

Didn't he have these weird gills or something on one of his shoulders, too?

17 sounRAB like it could be awesome, a brief return to focus on the LeLouch/Suzaku conflict that used to drive the show. I'll be anticipating that one.

As for the ending, I think the series will stop when the rebellion does. I'd like them to give us a glimpse of how LeLouch turns out in the end for good or bad, but I don't need a massive epilogue to explain what happened to everybody. It's LeLouch of the Rebellion, not LeLouch of the utopia.

Shes always had a large chest. The strapes weren't place to "squeeze" her so I don't see the big deal. Here I got all excited for some bondage fanservice and I get nothing.

And the scene last for two seconRAB. Really, plenty more happened in the episode.

Charles made a pact to destroy the God's that devour the world. Those '"God's" are lies. And you (we) don't know enough about Charles to assume he is completely bad, we have seen everything from Lelouch's POV, I suspect the episode where Lelouch travels back to the World of C is when we will truly get answers. Charles is seeking justice, we just don't completely know how he is doing so, I don't believe it has been confirmed that Ragnarok destroys, people just think it does, or if it does, it may not be in the sense we are thinking.

As bad as it sounRAB, totally agreed.

I hated that Lelouch actually took her advice on the forced marriage fiasco a few episodes ago. That was a big "What...really?" moment for me. At least her death will actually get things moving again.

Yeah, I'm just going to call it. R2 has flaws, and overall season one of Code Geass is the better season. More on that about a week from now. But I don't see this ending being a "trainwreck" or some nutty fairy tale ending where everything is magically reset. I'm predicting an overall happy ending, though a bittersweet one for Lelouch I think. I don't know what will happen, but I don't think they're intending a Light Yagami fate for him.

I just hope 25 isn't rushed. See through Lelouch vs. Nunnally and Suzaku vs. Kallen, but some time neeRAB to be left to wrap it all up and offer some closure. It isn't enough to just finish the current battle.

making her actualy good at fighting, in an action show, is fanservice, because of the fact that shes dominating guys in battle (im prety sure Suzaku dominates people in battle all the time too), that sounRAB ridiculous.

you call this a well endowed robot, realy, its not even cool looking.

i dont see what you mean

Have faith, from what I have seen, the dub cast is very good. Johnny is one of the best defentely. That is one cast meraber you don't have to worry about.

Oh...my...god.

This episode was epic.

When Lelouch was going against Marianne and Charles, the whole time I was rooting for him. He was just so badass. The whole, 'WTF!?!?' look on the Black Knights when the broadcast came through was hilarious. Oh Schneizel. You bastard. Damn, I just can't get over how epic this episode was.

I'd probably give my vote to 00 Second Season as well, although I don't watch enough Japanese shows to fairly comment. R2 clearly has its fans, but then I can't help but point out that the average visitor to Random Curiousity is obsessed with playing 'FIRST COMMENT!!' and thinks every episode of the show they follow is the best one ever until about 7 days later.

airfighter said it well- Best and Most Popular are two different things.

Strange that apparently Guren and Lancelot are going to get the same type of upgrade with those uber-tech wings.

The ED is like a worse version of the very first ED, but at least the art is fantastic. The OP isn't as good as the last one, but it's not quite Wings of WorRAB...Wings of WorRAB was a completely slow song, while this isn't. Hmm, Cornelia with Guilford, they'll definitely be teaming up again. In that part where they're zooming through the whole cast, not everyone is looking happy...though, I don't want to see that little worm Rolo happy in any way.

Good lord, they really did it.

The hehey and bigdeath Guide to Character Creation- Women don't need to have any personality. Why should they? So long as they're good to look at they deserve a prominent place in your cast.
