Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

You know this episode makes me wonder when it became out of fashion to use regular old tightened ropes or superficial gravity immobilizing rings (which is doable in world of Sakuradite drives and Gefgun Defibulators or whatever) to restrain a character in a modest, non-sexual fashion...

More as I get a chance to watch the episode.

That's rather too hard on Suzaku; I wouldn't say he never cared about freeing or saving others. Surely, he knew what would be expected of him when he was knighted. Considering his willingness to fight even his countrymen, being willing to fight foreigners isn't much of a shock. I can't quite swallow that Suzaku didn't think through what he'd have to do to work his way up the ranks--even he isn't that naive. I assume this was something he'd accepted from the start.

Also, don't forget how Mao got into his head in season 1. We learned then that Suzaku goes all out trying to save others in an attempt to ease his guilt and compensate for killing his father. This is a reason why the "Live!" Geass could be such a cruel punishment; it deprives him of his death wish and his capacity to sacrifice for others.

Now? We know he's jaded and disillusioned because of the events at last season's end. I'd agree he's fixated on revenge at this point, as losing Euphie was likely as bad for Suzaku as losing his father was and its LeLouch's fault. But Suzaku surely has his plans for after LeLouch is defeated.

Nah. You're thinking of Athrun, he had all the girls.

But yeah, the sound episodes are awesome, they even point more towarRAB the MillyxLelouch relationship, which is nice, it was definately in the show, just more subtle.

Episode 13......

What a sad episode.

Shirley, you were never destined to be with Lelouch. I think that was something even you knew, despite everyone's best wishes. But you didn't have to die. Surely you could have found happiness with someone else. Someone like Suzaku? Still, I'm glad that Code Geass gave you such a beautiful send off. Your parting scene was beautiful beyond worRAB.

Poor Lelouch.... You were so vulnerable this episode. I was surprised at how much of the real you that you let us see this episode. Like Shirley, I too hope you find your happiness. Atleast [car horn] will never die in your arms. ♥

Suzaku.... oh Suzaku.... How will you take the news? I hate having to wait an entire week. I'm filled with anticipation.

I really felt like this episode hit all the emotional chorRAB perfectly and is exactly why I watch this show. I am happy to rate this episode its first 5 Stars out of 5 for the season.

***** out of *****

I agree with most of that. A big difference is Eureka 7 kept it clear who the heros and villains were. Code Geass is full of anti heros and anti villains, you have to keep a score card on who is figthing for who, and the reason they are fighting for.

If Eureka 7 was like Code Geass, Dewey would have died around episode 40, and Eureka would have been the final villain in the last episode.

*gets out shot gun* I'll take care of this.

Wow. Way to like...I don't know... pull a fast one? They just COULDN'T keep her dead, could they? Schneizel you're gunna burn in hell, kid. But with only a few episodes left you'd think they'd want a nice wrap up, not 'lets throw 30 minute of pure random plot together and mix it around so nobody likes us!'

I'm with PHW.. there better be one heck of an explanation. There's no way I can abandon this show now.
