Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

The filler annoyed me because as I've said before I felt there was a line. The end of season one crossed that and after that, it just feels unnatural for the show to fall back into highschool drama and fanservice. I'm sure this is something that had to be done to pacify the target audience, but in terms of the story it was step back. I don't want to get into 00 spoilers but it looks like season two of that is intending to hit the ground running with all the previous build up. Geass didn't do this it wasted time on fanservice and needless tangents and the whole 'who is Zero?' stuff again. I'm sure you could argue this fangirl bait was always part of Geass creation but it doesn't make for a strong story. I feel much like GWOtaku that the core of Geass, Lelouch's story, is very strong. So I think it's awful that something that seems genuinely well done has to be dragged down with all this audience pandering crap. I mean, even the director partially bemoans it. I feel sorry for him. I'd love it if we had more directors who were like "No. Screw the sponsors, screw the fans. We're telling a story here. If they don't like it, go watch something else".
 
Also, something that was said at the end (and this is a HUGE spoiler):

Nunnally: "Big Brother. Suzaku. Both of you are my enemy."

...This won't end well. At all.
 
I can't really see any facial plates, myself. Its blurred enough to obscure most of the face. Plus, Jeremiah did have that Kazuma (s-CRY-ed) arm, which isn't visible at all on the figure in the sanRABtorm.

edit: Scratch the Kazuma-arm, something was nagging me and went back to look. His bare arm doesn't have it. Forgot about that, I guess. Still, I can't really make out anything on his face, so what you're seeing as facial plates may be something else, I think.

As far as what I think about it, here goes.

I like to draw parallels between Season 1 and Season 2. It's quite easy to do after all since a lot of episodes seem to mirror each other in some way. The one way that matters to a lot of people though is the cliffhanger at the end of Season 1, and at the end of R2. Suzaku has a gun pointed at Lelouch, and shoots him at the end of Season 1. Suzaku has a sword and stabs Lelouch that leaRAB people to believe he's dead, only to have it end on the note of C.C. in a wagon, talking to Lelouch. Some people think she's talking to him in spirit sort of like Marianne, but the only reason she did that was because of the World of C, etc.

Personally (and I'm sure it's been mentioned), I think during Charles' psycho crusher-like attack on Lelouch where he choked him, he transfered his Code to him. As we know, it seems to take your own death to trigger the Code, so Lelouch planned this as apart of the Zero Requiem. Switch with Suzaku, get out of everyone's life, and "die." I think after Suzaku "killed him", and he died basically, he was reborn as the Warlock he promised to be to C.C. Therefore, we get the name R.R. or R2. Remeraber how C.C.'s name is pronounced C2 and all.

That's just my opinion on that matter. That and I do think C.C. is actually talking to Lelouch as he drives the wagon.

Right. Just read on 2chan that it was actually a break down of the different demographics for the most recent episodes.

Obviously it'll be better than something that aired at midnight/1AM, but I'm betting that it was expected to get better ratings, I keep hearing that it's "too much of an otaku show" and that just makes me wonder why then have it be the first show to try and bring about a new "golden time slot" for anime.

I'm still skeptical on ratings not playing a big part for the show since it seems like Sunrise wanted this season to have a bit more of mass appeal. But as long as it doesn't end up going the way of other shows that had their plots irreparably screwed around with, I'll be satisfied.
 
I saw similar. I think, at least for that episode, Suzaku sees Nunally as an innocent girl unknowingly attached to a psychopath. It's like when people are unfit parents and so their children are taken into care. Suzaku clearly felt Lelouch had lost any right to be involved with his sister, since it was his own actions that had caused the situation. Though I will say I don't think Suzaku was a 100% right. We also don't know what he was told about Lelouch and the Geass. He seems to think Lelouch intentionally had Euphie cause the massacre.
 
i may be wrong, but i think Lelouch is smart and rational enough to know that this is probably his fault, or at least mature enough not to let "a blame game" distract from his more important goals.
 
I think that would only have meaning to those who already knew Lelouch was Zero. Otherwise it just sounRAB like Lelouch is putting Suzaku above the much touted Knight of RounRAB system the Empire employed; as if the two of them are above it all.
