Wow.
The good: Kallen is back and being awesome. Woohoo!
The bad: Everything else
Not that the episode sucks, just that this is...BAD. It does seem like everyone in the diet building is dead, barring some kind of miracle. Lelouch being unable to contact Sayako makes me very afraid. Asahina is definitely gone, as is Nunally's stupid handler.
Lelouch is being set up for a hell of a fall. So far as he knows his reason for fighting is gone, and I have a nasty feeling that Todoh is going to turn against him now in light of this new information he's getting. Hence the "betrayal" episode title next week, perhaps...ominous. I suppose it could also mean Rolo's betrayal, I don't know. Going by the preview Lelouch is obviously going to take it all out on him, and he probably won't take it well.
The Guren did feel a bit overpowered in this episode. I hope they don't overuse the speed. I'd like to see action, not a beam of light shooting around the battlefield everywhere. The extending arm was kind of cool, but seems kinda silly. Logically speaking, there's nothing stopping somebody from chopping off the hand while the wire is left exposed like that. The original hand was fine. It was kind of nice seeing Lancelot get trashed though, considering how it's been untouchable for so long.
There's probably no way Cornelia sides with the Black Knights now. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that this battle basically wiped out the Glaston Knights.
Possible plot hole: Did Anya die in the blast? If not that's quite a feat of luck, considering that the last time we saw her she was having another seizure. She can't be gone though since her mystery isn't solved yet.
It was a good action episode, I just have a really bad feeling about this. I do hope there's a dawn coming, I really do.
