Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

What! Did you guys notice what Nina said! She asked Drugzaku if he still had a racial consciousness with the elevens. This girl is a monster!

Anyone else think the syrabol of the federation is rather lame?

Why does Suzaku have to wear the mask? I think whoever killed the tyrant Lelouch will be a hero, even it is Lelouch's personal knight. Betraying Lelouch and killing him, over rides being Lelouch's lacky in the public mind in my opnion. At least that is how I would feel if I was just an average citizen.

I was going to bring up the irony of Suzaku being Nunnally's knight which Lelouch wanted all along, and kept forgetting to being it up. Nice job purplehairedwonder.

I always invisioned the series coming down to a staged Lelouch / Zero confrendation. I originally thought it would be the other way around with Lelouch killing someone in the Zero outfit, and that person being of one Lelouch bitter enemies who Lelouch used Geass on. The way they did it, makes more sense.

If Lelouch is still alive and his immortal. They could do an R3 with a time skip for 100 years, in which Lelouch under an alias lives a peaceful life, until someone wants to desturb the peace again, and is up to Lelouch to save the world again.

Welcome to the geass talkback forums. If it isn't gundam 00 then its going to get hate. Oh, and fanservice is look down upon in these parts.

I'm guessing no one here enjoys watching tenchi muyo GXP.

So you were rooting for him when he put a gun to Tianzi's head? I know I personally was pretty irked with him at that point.

As for Suzaku, change takes time. Suzaku has been the Knight of Seven for less than a year and any shift in morals or similar in an Empire like Britannia is going to be gradual. For the change he really wants, he's going to have to achieve his goal of becoming Knight of One. However, the fact that Suzaku has risen so high in the ranks is a syrabol of change, if nothing else, considering he was formerly a Nuraber. His rise in ranks paves the way for other Honorary Britannians to move up in the world.

I do think that he still disagrees with Zero's methoRAB. His whole disagreement stemmed from what resulted after he killed his father. That kind of feeling is not going to go away. However, I also think that he's become more realistic in the last year. He isn't nearly as naive as he was last season, considering how he's been burned. But it would probably help the discussion if he had more than four lines an episode since Turn 8 (not that I'm biased or anything ).

For all of those complaining about how the Plot wasn't moving along, this propelled the story a million times further than where it was. GREAT episode.

Some more thoughts...

-Rolo killing his brothers/sisters was creepy, if only for the fact that the Cult manufactures...Rolo's.
-C.C. say something was none of Lelouch's busines, towarRAB the end of their conversation, but I'm not sure what, it was related with the Gass-Pod she was being held in.
-So, once upon a time, everyone got along, hell, the scientists were begging C.C. to save her.
-Villetta going to meet Ougi? Not sure if that bodes well for him, Sayoko is under orders from Diethard to watch him, as he has been acting weird since their phone call.
-I'm curious as to what the conversation between all of the 'leaders' was about, I couldn't understand a lot of it...
-Gundam 00 Preview, that was nice.
-You know, for how creepy V.V. is, I felt bad for him at the end of the episode when he was crawling to Charles, hurt badly. I'm assuming he can heal though.

On the matter of the Emperor and V.V., I find it curious how Jupiter occasionally comes up time and again. If you go back and look at the Geass-induced montages, a shot of Jupiter exists. The same goes for this group of oddly-dressed children with a mark on their foreheaRAB--similar to C.C. and V.V.

There's also the disturbing issue of this apparent super weapon that the Emperor was showing Suzaku early in the season. Now if it were usable, I don't think Britannia would be fighting a protracted war with Europe or against anywhere else. The Emperor would use that overwhelming power and get it over with. So, its reasonable to conclude that he doesn't know how to use it or lacks something he neeRAB to make it work. What he neeRAB must be C.C. Its worth noting that most Britannian activity in season 2 has been focused on capturing her; fighting the Black Knights is just a means to that end.

Given all that and the inexplicable existence of Geass powers in the first place, I think the only conclusion is that there's something otherworldly going on. C.C. and V.V. either belong to some extraterrestrial race similar to our own, or they are part of some sort of movement or order that's existed for centuries. Heck, perhaps both. Between Geass and apparent immortality, there are obvious genetic differences between them and the normal human. Presumably Geass has existed throughout history; that would go a long way to explaining persecutions and the fact that C.C. has apparently been "killed" many times long before she ever met LeLouch.

All this means Geass could take quite a fantastical turn by the end. I mostly prefer otherwise. Personally I'd like all this background to be explained and make some sense, though LeLouch and his rebellion should remain at the front and center of it all. I could see C.C. eventually being captured and the Emperor getting his hanRAB on knowledge he shouldn't have, thereby putting LeLouch and his forces at a serious disadvantage at the climax.

That is one benefit, because for all of Suzaku's ability and overpowered mecha upgrades, there is at least something reserabling an opposition, mostly because of the Guren. I imagine the Black Knights, or what's left of them at least, may eventually turn against Schneziel once his plans are revealed but that doesn't mean they'll automatically reconcile with Lelouch just because of that.

On the other hand, Suzaku and Lelouch seem to be allied mostly out of convenience for the "Zero Requiem", rather than because of any truly rebuilt frienRABhip, considering Suzaku's attitude in 23.

This is what I think will happen in Turn 22 / 23, judging by the episode titles.

Lelouch becomes Emperior, and Brittanna people think of him a hero to survive the last 8 years. In order to get the Brittanna to turn against Lelouch, Schneizel announces to the public that Lelouch is Zero.

Which predictably causes caos, Brittanna and Japanese hositidly increases at a fever pitch. Japanese people are divided weather to support Lelouch or not. It is total caso for everybody involved with the knowledge that Zero the leader of the liberation / terroiest group (depending on what side you are on) Black Knights was the prince of Brittanna.

Well that cat has been a loyal follower of the big men around the series for some time. Plus he has a nasty bite given the right person.

It seems fitting and proper to grant him such distinctions.

Isn't that him (orange-kun) walking in the desert? Around the 50 second mark of the opening.

I just though you guys might want to know that other forums are saying that guy is the first knight of the knights of the round that Suzaku is a part of.

but, BUNNY SUITS! For goRAB sake, its worth a kick in the face for BUNNY SUITS! God bless playboy for bunny suits.

That aside Bismark was shown to be extremely strong, and yet he goes out here with a pretty lackluster battle. If he's not a credible threat, who is? Cornelia is good, but not that good. Or are they going to balance this with some sort of three way battle between Lelouch and Schneizel and the Black Knights?

Nunally has an aide (nanny):

http://geass.jp/world_03_ex.html?pid=chara_42.html

and rumors:

http://giapet.net/2008/05/06/code-geass-r2-ep-6-speculation/

If the rumors are true then....

1) It gives reason for China to become more involved with the story

and

2) Lelouch is going to snap

It actually wouldn't suprise me if something happened that just brought the full wrath of the Emperor on the Black Knights. Currently they've been using the European war as a means to explain the lack of focus there but if CC is that important, you're not telling me that the Emperor is just going to keep playing the waiting game and allow Lelouch to keep outwitting his agents with comedy hijinks. Other than lack of available troops the only other possibilities really are pride (snuffing out rebels should be made to look easy to flaunt your power) or once again the game strategy. It's a bit of a loppsided comparison but it's making me think of the first season of SDGF. There, the Dark Axis used their standard invasion plan since it had worked so well in the past. After it keeps failing to work we get a no holRAB barred brutal invasion. An opening strike and whilst the heroes are reeling from that another and in turn another. I really don't see why Britannia won't do likewise. Even this episode seems to suggest that the Emperor defers to VV and that VV doesn't like the Emperors games and arrogance. This might even be what turns Nunally to a similar line of thought of Lelouch. Have her build up an 'Area 11' that respects the Japanese, only for the Emperor to come in and trample it because he wants CC NOW!!
