Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

animesuki:

I'm thinking that Marianne is dead but C.C. can still talk to the dead. Of course, some people think the emperor is the 3rd person C.C. is talking to. It would explain why she left that message not to open up the box she had chesse-kun in for the emperor, they are still talking to each other. Anyway, food for thought.

Has anyone heard anything about the ratings of the show? I've heard that a recent episode got as long as a .2% and that overall it's borabing as the "revival" of the golden time slot.

Trainwreck's review of the series was something I got behind. trainwreck.ggkthx.org for those interested.

Critically, it's a 3/10 since it leaves a ton of things open-ended incomplete and frustratingly unresolved while trying to dip its toes into too many things at once.

Entertainment wise it is rated higher for its 'superb trolling' of the audience with its shocks and twists.

Also there's something to lol about when you see the rating scale use schneizel/10. =)

Ok, first of all- like last time, I really don't want to get too deep into 00 talk. This is a Geass thread, so it's not fair to drag in spoilers from other series for the unaware. I've been intentionally vague and in the above quote I added a spoiler box. Please be more considerate in future. Thank you.

I actually complained about most of those moments in the first 00 thread. I wasn't watching the show through rose tinted glasses whilst looking for even the slightest thing to nitpick on Geass. 00 had some moments of "..The hell?" when it came to fanservice but mostly it had many positive female characters. Compare to Geass, where we have at most Cornelia. Possibly CC. Milly is iffy and Kallen has pretty much become a joke.

The only problem I see right now is the risk of repeating season 1 too much, but its still very early in the season. Destiny drew on some other shows (Zeta Gundam and original Seed, mostly) but its real problem was the way it fell apart in the last 10 episodes. It served up clip shows and filler and way too much sudden development in a short amount of time. Not to mention the much criticized, anti-climatic final battle among the Gundams.

In short Geass can't possibly mess up so badly, but repetition is a problem that hurt Destiny and its something Geass ought to avoid. Especially since Geass absolutely doesn't have the production problems that we now know plagued Destiny.

I loved Lloyd's line about how Nina doing this would kill her one day.

Although it brings up the question, Why not just kill her now? I mean, unlike Shirley, no one would really give a crap if she died.

EDIT: Tamaki finally has a position...Internal Cleaning Spare officer. It suits him

...

Rolo appears to hate Shirley. I wouldn't be surprised if he kills her.

Kallen is with Nunnally. Edit: Scratch that, she's still in prison, but it appears that Nunnally intenRAB to take her in. So she won't become a victim of the Emperor's Geass, that's for sure.

Jeremiah has a Geass that is inverted (the syrabol is blue instead of red and is upside down) and it cancels out other Geass effects, he uses it on Shirley at the end of episode and now Shirley remerabers that Lelouch is Zero and that Nunnally is his sister.

Destiny, as best described, is what happens when you give the script writing to a Kira fanboy fanfiction writer.

Because that's sadly what really happened.

On the other hand, Geass can't possibly do a Destiny since the main characters are the same unless Lulu unsurps himself as the main lead or something wackey like that @_@

Haha, now THAT'S what I wanted to hear. Galahad is now exempt from criticism!

Percival though...eeeeh. It isn't the design, but the colors don't work for me. Perhaps it will look better in animation.

You can say that again. But well, to be completely honest...I had already found out about this development somewhere else. Not with quite as many pictures though.

After Lelouch was stabbed, Nunally touched his hand and his memories were transfered into her, showing her what went down between himself, Suzaku, and C.C. This was how she figured out that he had only been acting evilly to turn the world against him, and had always planned to die as apart of the Zero Requiem. (cue her screaming, crying, and calling the circumstances unfair) This also plays along with the fact that Lelouch might not be dead, considering normal humans can't transfer memories until they become immortal.

Uh, have you been watching this show. Shes pretty badass. Maybe I'm use to animes like Fate/stay night were characters can show up for only a few episodes and still make a huge impact.

I point to the first season thats airing on Adult Swim. Gurren Dances definitly shows of her badassness. I also point to her duel with Zero at the end of season 1. And here we are half way through season two and no male comes close to her awesomeness. Really, are any of the guys as terrorfying as Cornellia in battle?

I kinda see where this might be going then with the postponement of the next episode for a week.
Brittania and the Knights follow Zero and the escapees to China and he makes the earthquakes to block their attacks?

I thought it was code for a traitor since there was one guy in the week-before-last dubbed episode that called him Orange and like half the Brittanians on the show called him that. But hey, I'm no expert on the show.
