Rebirth of the Rebellion - Code Geass R2 Talkback (SPOILERS)

I hope we find out who masterminded Marianne's murder? Was is it simply a Japanese revolt attack, or was she pacificly by someone that knew her?

That question might never be answered and be left for us to speculate.

The only problem is that Geass plays the race card while Star Wars works on a borderless world where the focus is the oppression of the galaxy, not the focus of only a small island nation. You never heard any racist Empire rhetoric in Star Wars.

I'm sorry, but after seeing the same thing over and over again in countless animes how can we fans not think that?

And whatever happen to cheering on your favorite anime couple? Though, I favor Lelouch and C.C.

I like the concept of Suzaku's development, I'm just a bit lost because I have no idea what they have planned with this "Zero Requiem" business and the "promise" that the two of them have made with each other. I can't judge it yet because I don't know what I'm judging!

Most irritating. I want to know. Is it two weeks from now yet?

ahhh. I have a habit of believing in Wiki, so I don't want to be let down. But uhm, Schneizel wanting to assassinate Charles? SounRAB very fishy, and while that could lead to the oh so elusive Suzaku X Leouch team up... I don't think it'll be that easy in the least. The one I'm worried about being bitter is Suzaku

Just another note about Europe in Code Geass; the director had mentioned that Britannia had been fighting constantly against Europe for a very long time, but an unnamed genius European commander had being doing a terrific job defending against it.
(I am betting it's Erwin Rommel, but I don't think we will ever know because the cast is already too big with the Chinese getting involved.)

That was also the explanation for why we have all these new Britannian Aces appearing only now. These Knights had been busy fighting on the European front and not able to participate in the suppression of the Zero rebellion last season.

Well, I was the original, so I suppose Lelouch. is Sayoko Super Ninja Maid.

Speaking of which, she is in her Ninja suit in the preview for 18...

But just because she treaded in water she shouldn't have doesn't mean she DESERVED to die in so much as she was courting a death wish and was EXPECTED to die if she didn't keep her nose out. With that logic you could say in a certain OTHER series that's always mentioned here...

Yeah I'm not going to say anything.

Newtype seemed to be doing something of a Geass send off. The first 2 are the cover of a souvenir book which had stuff like a best R2 episode list and a Q&A. Pretty much their usual fluff. Inside the main magazine was a gallery of clean art they used in their issues during R2 (this was printed on rougher paper, hence some of the grain in the bottom scan). With Geass I know alot of people cover it anyway so I just scanned the one that stood out most to me.

...Really, the magazine is pretty useless. If I could find somewhere that was scanning those one page Gundam art articles, I think I'd drop it.

And Lelouch pwns yet again. How do you smuggle your private army out of the country without the enemy doing anything about it? Make the enemy promise to do it for you. And so, as a goodbye gift to Nunally, Lelouch is conveniently removing the Black Knights from Area 11, allowing him to fight his battles without interfering with hers.

The blond knight seems like more of a dick than first thought, judging by his apparent glee at the prospect of a purge.

Has Schneizel ever actually acted evil on-screen? They've given him this really sinister look in all of the OPs, but in his (very few) moments of screentime he's always looked like this wishy-washy Treize wannabe.

Lol @ Nina failing to blow up the school because she forgot to arm the borab properly.

Also lol @ Suzaku being called a masochist, although he did still effectively condemn the would-be assassin to death by not interfering.

In spite of that, this was definitely an episode focused on underlining the similarities between our two antagonists rather than the differences. They both care about many of the same things, and they also both want to do the right thing - and regardless of whatever he may feel personally (and I'm not convinced that Lelouch does hate Suzaku anymore), Lelouch still trusts his onetime friend to stand by those principles first.

One thing I found interesting was Suzaku's question: not "Why did you use the Geas on Euphemia and send her to butcher my countrymen?" but "Why did you kill Euphemia?" Could Suzaku have learned that the massacre was an accident?

I also /facepalmed at the "BURNING HEART OF JAPAN" segment. (The mask is a nice effect, but you just can't pull off a line like that without wearing pointy red sunglasses.) Still, the "JAPAN IS SUPERIOR" line seems to contradict everything else that Lelouch - and even his followers - have been saying since the season began: that even though the fight began in Japan and has focused on it thus far, it's really the world's fight against tyranny that we're dealing with here. It'll be interesting to see what happens to that attitude when the Black Knights have to live as guests in China.

I'd give it a passing grade, just not very high marks. I predict episode 10 will be far better.

I'd say Lloyd is still pretty clueless. Apparently Suzaku leaned on him to start including her, which was a nice follow up from that "C.C. falls into tomatoes" episode where the fact that Milly hadn't heard from him came up in conversation. His answer to her question about the engagement is another good indicator. No Lloyd, you didn't call it off, but when you don't talk to your fiancee for a year people are going to wonder.

Xing's development was badly needed, it's definitely a good thing.

Schniezel will be the man LeLouch will have to defeat before the Emperor. He's certainly an intellectual match, and if you ask me his kind and soft-spoken demeanor is as much a mask as LeLouch's Zero identity. There's a cunning and dangerous man underneath, no doubt.

YAY POLL!
I gave this series a 3 simply because the last episode saved it from being absolutely dreadful- that is to say, Lelouch best be alive because if he isn't that vote is certainly going to be changing. XD (kidding kidding. Either way you take it, I'm satisfied..oddly enough.) Although, for what it's worth, and the train wreck that it almost exploded as, they ended this series very well and I enjoyed the powerfulness of the last episode which was just fantastic. It's still hard to fathom. *wells up with tears again* GUH
Bravo.
